The exams are over!!!! Finally!!!!!! Some peace of mind. We can finally breathe. Yeah, I know I am being dramatic. But exams sure are nerve wrecking. Anyways, more of that later. We don't have to look at these books until a week later. Right now, all we can and should concentrate on is having fun. Literally, nothing else.
And that is why, we are on our way to Sacramento. We're almost there. We are like 10 minutes away and the hotel is like half an hour away. We were planning to visit Shane and Sheldon during this one week holiday. Part of the reason was that. The other reason was that mom and dad wanted me to see if I wanted to join their college. Even though he never holds me back, dad is very protective of me. He thought that if Shane and Sheldon are there, he need not worry so much about us living alone. Besides, it's only like two hours away. So, he thinks it might work for us. So we decided to make a visit.
"So, you ready to see your loverrr?" Anna teases.
"He's not my lover. He just gave me his sweat-shirt. Big deal." I say.
"Yeah. No big deal. She has only been probably wearing it to sleep every night, loving his 'scent' that comes from the sweat-shirt." Tessa smirks.
"How did you know that?" I say hastily in shock.
"OMG! You actually do that! I was just saying that because that is what I see in those rom-coms." Tessa says and they start laughing hysterically.
"I don't do that. I mean... I asked only because... because... it's not true."
"Shut up. You've been caught, Ali. There is no defending yourself now."
"Whatever." I mumble and look straight ahead at the road, acutely ignoring their smirks and giggles.
Coming to Sacramento, we checked into our hotel and freshened up before texting Shane and telling them we're ready. They come to pick us up in their SUV along with two of their friends. We're told that they're twins. Even before Shane introduced us to everyone, the guy looked at all of us and froze when he saw Tessa standing beside me, before a smile creeps up on his face. Eww, creepy much?! I turn to find the same expression on her face, just a little scared and angry, I think. Why is she scared?
"Hi, Tessa." He says, still smirking.
"What the fuck are you doing here?!" She says.
"You guys know each other?" Shane and I ask simultaneously.
My heart skips a beat at his voice. God, it's such a beautiful voice. Ughhh, Alice, concentrate. I compose my thoughts and look at Tess.
"Umm, yeah. He is Lucas's friend." Lucas is his elder brother.
"Oh so you're Lucas's sister. I've heard quite a lot about you from Harry." She says that as if she means to hint something.
"It's so nice to meet you, too." Tessa says, not spats back, almost venomously, ignoring the Harry part. Then, she takes a glance at me and I can see it's uncomfortable.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go see the campus." attempting to change the topic. Shane and Sheldon bless them, catch on the attempt and we head towards the campus.
I am taken back by the beauty of this place. The entire campus is so beautiful with its tall white walls, brown roofs and green trees and bushes. The lawns are scattered with groups of students. Some of them are studying, some are reading from books, some are chasing each other across the lawn as if playing 'catch the thief' and some are just huddled in a tight circle and talking. All in all, it's a pretty good sight.
We see all the classrooms and the canteen and all other things. Hailey takes us to her dorm room, which is pretty good. She says that all the dorms are like this. It's almost the size of a one bedroom flat. It was a room for three, along with a bathroom and closets. All of this is pretty good and it'd be perfect for us. We'd have a room to ourselves. I could actually see myself living in this place for 3 years... we evaluated all of this and then, headed to our hotel and decided to meet at Hailey's dorm at night to hang out and for dinner.
We offered to get the snacks as the store was on our way to the campus. So after all arrangements, we decided to meet at the dorm at 9:00. I really couldn't wait to get together with everyone again. Especially Shane, I thought to myself with a flicker of a smile forming my face.
Maybe this is going to be something real, after all. I don't know yet. And I don't know what to expect either. He's usually so shy and reserved about his relationships and everything. I practically know nothing about his love life experiences, if any. Well, I have already decided that I am not going to rush into anything. Let him take his time to open up and take my own time to evaluate everything and then go ahead. I don't want to be heart-broken and I am going to be careful as to whom I will give my heart to.
THANK YOU FOR READING. I HOPE ALL OF YOU ARE HAVING A GREAT DAY AND A GREAT WEEK!
