Scene 2

Boq: Will that be all for now, Madame?

Nessa: I've asked you to call me Nessarose. Remember?

Boq: Yes, Madmame

(He leaves)

Nessa: Boq!

Elphaba in the closet: Well, it seems the beautiful get more beautiful, while the green just get greener

(She gets out of the closet)

Elphaba: I'm sorry did I scare you? I seem to have that effect on people. It's good to see you.

Nessa: What are you doing here?

Elphaba: Well, there's no place like home. I'd never though I'd hear myself say this but... I need father's help. I need him to stand with me.

Nessa: What? That's impossible

Elphaba: No it isn't. Not if you ask him, he'll do anyting for you. Nessa, you know he will-

Nessa: Father's dead!...

Elphaba: What?

Nessa: He's dead. I'm the new governer now. Well, what did you expect? After he learned what you did. How you discraced us he died... of shame embarresed to death.

Elphaba: Good, I'm glad, it's better that way.

Nessa: That's a WICKED thing to say! 

Elphaba: No it isn't, it's just true. Because it's just you and me. And together we can-

Nessa: Elphaba SHUT UP!... First of all I can't harbor a fugitive I'm an unelected Official. And why should i help you? You fly around Oz trying to rescue animals you've never even met. And not once have you thought to use your powers to rescue me! (Sings) All of my life I've depended on you! How do you think that feels?! All of my life I've depended on you and this hedious chair with wheels! Scrounging for scraps of pitty to pick up. And longing to kick up my heels. 

Elphaba: Nessa, there isn't a spell for everything, the power is mysterious. It's not like cobling up a pair of-... wait. (Elphaba starts chanting a spell)

Nessa: What is that? Elphaba what is that? Ow my shoes! They feel like they're on fire! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY SHOES?! 

(Suddenly Nessa stands up then falls agian and Elphaba tries to help her up)

Nessa: No, don't help

(She stands up)

Elphaba: Oh Nessa finally! (Sings) I've done what long ago I should. And finally from theese powers something good. Finally... something good.

Nessa: Boq! Boq! Come quickly!

(Nessa sits back down in her chair)

Elphaba: What? Boq! No Nessa no one can know I'm here-

(Boq enters)

Boq: Yes what is it Madame- 

(He notices Elphaba and picks up a knife)

Boq: You! Stay back! 

Elphaba: Boq! No I'm not going to hurt you!

Boq: Yes you are! That's all you ever do. You're sister and you she's as Wicked as you are!

Nessa: Boq!

Elphaba: What are you talking about?

Boq: I'm talking about my life! The little that's left of it. I'm not free to leave Munchkinland anymore, none of us are. Ever since she took control of our rights... and we didn't have that many to begin with. And do you know why?

Nessa: To keep you here, with me. But none of that matters anymore... Look

(She stands up and Boq drops the knife)

Boq: You did this? For her?

Nessa: For both of us!

Boq:  Nessa,

Nessa: Yes?

Boq sings: Uh Nessa, surley now I'll matter less to you. And you won't mind my leaving here tonight.

Nessa: What? Leaving?!

Boq: Yes that ball that's being staged announcing Glinda is engaged to Fiyero

Nessa: Glinda?!

Boq: Yes, Nessa that's right. And I've got to go appeal to her. Express the way I feel to her. Oh Nessa I lost my heart to Glinda the moment I laid eyes on her. You know that. 

Nessa: Lost your heart? Well, we'll see about that!

Elphaba: Nessa let him go.

Nessa: Did you think I'd let you leave me here flat?! (Sings) You're going to loose you're heart to me! I tell you! If i have to! I have to... Magic spell you! (She starts saying a spell but saying the words all wrong)

Elphaba: Nessa stop! That's dangerous! You're pronouncing it all wrong! 

Boq: I'm warning you don't come any closer!

(Nessa stops chanting)

Nessa: Boq! What's wrong?! 

Boq: My heart It feel's like -it's, it's shrinking!!

Nessa: Elphaba do something! 

Elphaba: I can't you can't reverse a spell once it's been cast!

Nessa: Then what are we going to do?! This is all your fault! If you hadn't shown me that book- 

Elphaba: Hush will you! I've got to find another spell it's the only thing that might work! 

Nessa: (sings) Save him, please just save him! My poor Boq my sweet by brave him. Don't leave me till my sorry life has seased.(Elphaba starts chanting a spell in the backround) Alone and loveless here with just a girl in the mirror! Just her and me! The Wicked Witch of the East! We deserve eachother(Elphaba finsihes chanting)

Elphaba: He's asleep...

Nessa:Well, what about his heart?! 

Elphaba: It's alright, He won't need one now. I've got to go back to the Emerald City. What happened to thoose monkeys is my fault I've got to set them free.

Nessa: You're not going back there to save some monkeys you're going to find Fiyero. But it's too late... Elphaba!

Elphaba: Nessa, I have done everything for you and it hasn't been enough. And nothing ever will be! 

(She leaves)

Nessa: Elphaba! Elphaba! 

Boq: What happened? 

Nessa: Nothing you just fell asleep and- AHH!!

(Boq stands up and he is the tinman)

Nessa: Boq! It wasn't me Boq!

Boq: Ahhhh!!!

(He leaves)

Nessa: It was Elphaba Boq! It was Elphaba!!!!!
