Ed's P.O.V

Karma and I were just up and hoisted away from Central and headed for Resembol. I was super confused but Karma remained calm. It was almost strange. Karma was quiet the entire train ride, never once speaking. I won't lie, her mysterious exterior and constant silence really quite intrigued me. Sometimes all that was on my mind was her, which drove me nuts cause that would mean I like her more than just my partner. I enjoyed her presence and even when she revealed the things she was keeping from us I couldn't stay angry at her for long. Al teases me all the time about when he catches me staring at her.

We got off the train and just stood there for a moment. "Major are you going to tell me what we are doing here?" I asked. "This is starting to feel a little too much like a kidnapping." I added.

"I haven't been fully informed on the details. My only orders were to bring you here and rendezvous here." Major explained.

"Huh, rendezvous with who?" I asked then my question was quickly answered. sitting on one of the short stone fences was Lieutenant Breda.

"Glad you made it all right Major Armstrong." Breda began with a salute. "Oh hey, big guy, mini Mustang." Breda gave both me and Karma odd nicknames. Karma walked over to Breda and whacked him upside the head.

"What did you call me? Mini Mustang. What the hell?" Karma said. Breda laughed rubbing his head.

"The office gave you the nickname, not me. You are so attached to the Colonel and you tend to show certain behavioral traits similar to his." Breda explained. Karma stood there thinking then shrugged it off.

"Your nickname for Ed isn't bad though, really makes fun of his height." Karma said snickering to herself. After that small conversation we headed out.

"So hot!" I exclaimed feeling myself practically melt away. "I was never told we would have to cross the desert." I mumbled.

"How much further?" Breda asked our guide.

"Just up ahead." He said, pointing up in front of us. I could see the outline of the ruins. We arrived at the ruins and I quickly jumped in the smalls pool of water to cool off my automail.

"My automail almost boiled my skin." I mumbled. Karma walked over holding her automail arm, I could tell it was hurting her.

"Mind if I join? That was a deathly hot journey." Karma said. She still had her mask on but had changed into a t shirt and shorts. I could feel the light shade of pink dust my cheeks as I nodded. Karma hopped in and released a sigh.

"Deserts suck. my automail feels like it is trying to kill me in this heat." Karma said looking up at the sky.

"You haven't really spoken this entire trip. What's up?" I asked. Karma snickered to herself.

"Just wait a little bit." Karma said then soon after got out and went to dry herself. As she walked I could see scars littering her (S/C) skin.  It must be from all the fighting she does. I got out as well and rung my clothes out, putting them back on afterwards. Karma came back around wearing a t shirt with random tears throughout it and a pair of jeans, her trench coat sitting on her shoulders, as well as wearing her usual mask.

We had met up with one of Ling's body guards and he had us follow him through the ruins. He had told us about Xing's legend of Xerxes and we talked about how our two legends seem so similar. I stopped for a second looking at a certain piece of rubble that looked like some sort of transmutation circle.

"It is interesting, this place is full of mysteries." Karma said then grabbed my arm guiding us back to the group. As we walked someone called my name. It sounded like Ross but that couldn't be possible. I looked up and both me and the Major gasped, seeing Ross up on top of the rubble smiling down at us. Ross came down and the Major started chasing her with his shirt off trying to get a hug.
