Chapter XXI

Ed's P.O.V
Ling and I broke out into a fight with Envy within this never ending sea of debris and blood. The thing was Envy had changed into this massive green monster. With Envy being this size, Ling and I winning more than unlikely. I ran up to Envy, going to slash at him with my automail blade but I got distracted by the voices of the lost souls attached to Envy.

"Ed don't listen to those things! Focus on the fight!" Ling shouted at me. I couldn't help it. Their voices rang in my head. Then I heard one certain voice. It sounded like Nina. I zoned out again and didn't notice Envy go to grab me in time to move. Envy's green scaly hand grabbed hold of me and then threw me against a slab of concrete. I gasped feeling things break within me.

I laid there, looking to the side of me, slowly I felt my eyes wanting to close. I felt myself get lifted by something slimy. I had lost the will to fight.

'I'm sorry...Al....Karma'

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

Gluttony lead us down to an alley in Central, where he then opened this gated door that seemed to lead downwards. Once we got past the gates we walked through what I assume is the underground sewer system. I halted my walking for a second along with Al, seeing all the bloodied bones scattered along the way. It was a very vulgar scene.

"That is from the gatekeepers, but they won't tear you apart as ling as you are with me." Gluttony said.

"The gatekeepers?" Al repeated. We then both looked up, only seeing gleaming read eyes scattered above us. We both just kept walking, pretending the creatures weren't there.

"How much farther?" I asked.

"We are almost there." Gluttony responded.

"So your father, he will know how to get people out of your belly?" Al asked.

"I'm sure he will, Father knows everything!" Gluttony said. After more walking we eventually made it to this iron door. I could already feel what we came down here for was behind this door.

Gluttony pushed open the doors, and we finally went inside.

"Hello Father! I brought you a human sacrifice and someone else too!" Gluttony exclaimed waving his arms in the air. I carefully looked around then heard a dark voice speak. Al and I looked up and we were shocked. The homonculus father looked just like....

My thoughts were quickly turned from the man to red sparks coming from Gluttony's stomach. The portal inside of Gluttony seemed to be opening on its own. A very large creature tore through Gluttony and landed on the ground next to us. It was big green and scaly.

"Envy?" The man questioned. 'Envy?' I thought to myself. Al went to look at it then started speed walking.

"Brother!" Al shouted. My eyes shot up and I ran over to him.

"Al in armor....that means I made back to the real world." Ed mumbled and first bumped Ling. Al quickly engulfed Ed in a hug, swishing him. Ed looked behind Al while still being squished and saw me. I was smiling in joy that Ed was alive. I hadn't noticed the tear slide down my cheek. Ed's eyes were soft as they gazed at me. Once Al had let go of Ed, I softly embraced him.

"I am so glad you are alive." I quietly whispered in Ed's ear.

Ed nuzzles his head in the crook of my neck. "Of course I am alive. I had to come back to you and Al." Ed sweetly spoke in my ear.
