Chapter 15: Pre;

Taehyung's POV

"You're a human deity are you?" I flinched in her question.

I've been hanging around with the heiress of the Bae family for quite some time now. It's been months since we started to talk to each other after a protected her from kidnappers who tried to take her for ransom, thanks to Wendy noona, Seulgi noona and Jimin, we are able to see each other without being noticed by her parents.

I didn't answer but since I wasn't able to control my expression, that's enough for her to prove that her claim is true.

She smiled, "I knew it, you are indeed one."

"How did you know?" I asked.

"Back when we first met, I wasn't really tranquilized back then, I was acting. Those things doesn't work on me and so, I saw you disappeared."

"So, this was all a test for me?"

She nodded her head, "Yes."

"I knew it, I know there was something strange about you in the very beginning. You, the face of South Korea deity hunting, is always protected as if you're the weakest person ever yet you are one of the two persons who will end us. I almost fell for your acting."

"You noticed that too?"

"It was really strange for me though, but then we started to meet, I could feel my power decreasing everytime I'm near you, the reason why I was beaten when I protected you, maybe because I know that you'll end me and my kind but strangely enough, I didn't felt this when I met Taeyong for the first time."

"Any guesses why?"

"You're the direct descendant of our natural enemy. I've read about this in a book once."

"And the reason why you can feel your power decreasing when I'm with you it's because you are also a direct descendant, right? You're the direct descendant of the once king."

"That's right, I'm the prince and I could bestow you superhuman abilities, if you want."

"No need, I don't need it. I'm already stress as this is, I don't want to add it up."

I smiled in her statement, "You're quite honest to me. Aren't you gonna kill me?"

"I don't think I can... You're more powerful than any of the human deities, I know it."

"I don't think so, there are many human deities that are more powerful than me, I'm actually pretty weak you know? My sister is even stronger than me."

"I'm not talking about your skills and how you handle your power, I'm talking about your latent ability that is hidden and it's not yet released. It's frightening me, seriously. Back when we first met, I wasn't shaking in fear because of the kidnapper, I was shaking in fear because your latent ability is leaking, that's probably why you were able to defeat that guy despite I'm right by your side when you should be weak because of me."

"Are you even a normal human? How did you know that? How could you even feel it?" I asked in disbelief. Like seriously, how?

Irene just chuckled as she shrugged, "I don't know too, I wasn't like this until I met you. It's like my senses became perceptive when I met you."

'There's still something...'

"So, what are you gonna do now?" I asked, I got a feeling that she want me to do something. "You want me to do something right? That's why you haven't told anybody about me."

"Precisely, I do want you to do something. We've been working on a plan, me and Taeyong along with those who oppose the deity hunting. I have to cover for the plan, in the same time I need to think what's far ahead or our next step will be."
