Brumm's POV:

This new fallen kingdom is very interesting indeed. As the others set up the tents in order to give the small town of Dirtmouth a show while the Ritual is commencing, I decide to explore this the crossroads below. I slipped out of the tents as the few residence in town were sleeping, and I head down the abandoned well.

The main leader of the town disapproves of our arrival, Elderbug he calls himself. He enjoys the silence, and I will admit that we can be nosey when practicing and preparing, as I heard him speaking to the summoner, who could blame us? The Ritual is happening, and everyone is bustling with excitement!

But...

Why do I feel sad about it? Is it because I care deeply for Master Grimm? We all do, but it seems I am the only one who holds some sadness. I can feel the fine strings of my heart pull faintly, but I tried to ignore them. These more invasive thoughts had grown in my head like a weed, but our Scarlet Heart burns them away leaving nothing but ashes. Besides, my Master's eyes watch me closely here, if I would dare to indulge on these thoughts I would have to explore far in this Kingdom. So, I start to descend deeper.

Soon, I found myself deep in the Heart of Hallownest- the City of Tears. The rain was new, as I didn't expect such a dying kingdom to have a beautiful scenery. This is not the only area that was deemed lovely by many but this held a clue to why this kingdom had fallen and rotted away.

The statue. A large masked bug surrounded by 3 others with a simple engraving.

'Memorial to the Hollow Knight.

In the Black Vault above,

Through its sacrifice Hallownest last enteral.'

I've heard though the remaining bugs of the land that the Temple had been there for such a long time. Once a place to pray, now left alone. Elderbug, who didn't seem to talk much, told me about such place and told me that many went down into the Crossroads I wonder about our summoner?

A strange bug- or thing it was. It didn't seem to talk at all, only glancing upwards and giving the motivation to have the other bugs to talk. Other time, they would hold out something and point to whatever object was in their reach. I don't know their name, but I would like to find out.

The creatures here reeked of a sick and sweet odor, like one of rotting fruit. What kind of sickness had come to such kingdom? I had many questions about this land, and I fully intended to firgure them out. I went through the City of Tears, and found myself wandering into new areas. Could the small map shop have some maps up there I could use? Or once the summoner came back, maybe I could use their maps instead.

I found myself exploring wherever I could, taking my time to jot down some notes for future melodies that I could play and preform during my brief time in Hallownest. Maybe they'll join the others that I have crafted, blending together as all the others have.

I felt a strange thought linger, my steps slowing as I somehow returned back to the well that would lead me back up to the tents.

Maybe, maybe, I could linger longer.

(A/N: Hello there! Such a short chapter, and I apologize for that! The past 3 months haven't been nice. My laptop was not functioning well, meaning that I had to stop writing, and I hate leaving writings unattended for this long. I know this is so short, and I promise a longer chapter later this week. Please, feel free to comment and any suggestions are more then welcomed. Happy Father's Day! And see you soon.)
