Marco decided to leave the earring in. Tom had successfully convinced him that it looked cool and not at all lame. He had given him some old hoops and studs to change into when the piercing had healed. And Marco really did like the earring, until after about two weeks it got infected.

"Jesus fucking christ." Tom muttered as he grabbed Marco's head and looked at the infected ear. "How did you let this happen? Did you not take care of it like I told you to?" Tom asked frowning. Marco shrugged.

"I cleaned it I swear! I don't know why I just woke up yesterday and it looked like this." Marco frowned back, pushing Tom off and making him stumble back slightly. Tom smirked at the other boy.

"Okay, okay, I believe you, sure. Just keep cleaning it and tell me if it gets worse. Now if you don't mind I was actually coming over here to see my girlfriend." He smirked. "Do you happen to know where she is?" He asked.

"Yeah, she's in her room I'm pretty sure." Marco answered. Tom didn't reply, he just kept the smirk on his face, spun around, and walked his way to Stars room.

The door was locked when Marco went to check on them. He understood that meant he shouldn't bother them, so he made his way back to his own room and laid on his bed.

Tom hadn't come to vent about Star in a while, not since he had pierced Marco's ear. Marco wondered if his ear piercing had suddenly fixed all the problems in the two's relationship. He knew that wasn't true but it was the only thing that distracted him from the weird feeling in the pit of his stomach when he saw Star and Tom together. He covered his face with a pillow and screamed into it as loud as he possibly could have, wondering for a moment if they had heard him. Though he didn't know how much they would care in that moment.

Tom didn't like seeing Marco and Star together just as much as Marco didn't like seeing Star and Tom together. He felt the same feeling in the pit of his stomach. And he never knew why, maybe he was jealous of Marco. Maybe he was jealous for another reason. He couldn't fully place the feeling as jealousy, he just knew he didn't enjoy the feeling, and Marco and Star were causing it.

"What's wrong?" Star asked, sitting on the corner of her bed adjusting her dresses puffy sleeve. Tom shrugged in his seat on the other side of the bed.

"Nothing I just, I'm really confused right now." He attempted to explain, Star just looked more confused. "I don't know what it is, but being around you and Marco right now is just, it's hard to explain. It makes my stomach churn is all." He tried again. Star turned around to face him.

"So you don't want me hanging out with Marco? Is that what you're saying?" Star asked, clearly upset. She turned her head to hide her eyes watering.

"I don't want to control who you hang out with. That's not a good thing for me to do." Tom frowned. "I just don't think this is a good situation for anyone involved and I think... I think it would be easier to just not date right now." He spoke softly, Star wished that made it any less hard to hear the words he spoke.

"You're breaking up with me? That's what you came all the way out here to say?" Stars voice shook with sadness. Tom stood up.

"I really don't want this to ruin anything. I just think this will be better for all of us." Tom closed his eyes, trying to just power through the sour position he had put himself into. "I want to still be able to be friends with you Star." He assured.

"So we're... so we're just friends now?" Stars voice also grew soft, but she didn't sound as sad. She sounded as though she may have been going through acceptance sooner than Tom had expected. "I can do just friends." She smiled softly and brushed away her tears. "As long as you don't try to just get rid of me all together."

"I would never." Tom replied, smiling softly back at her. "I don't want to be rude and leave this  conversation early but, do you mind if I go find Marco? I think I need some guy time after this." Star wanted to ask why he could be around Marco but not her, but she let it go, nodding and brushing away her tears once more.

Tom walked out of the room, unlocking the door and making his way to Marco's room and knocking on the door lightly. Marco opened the door, looking gloomily at the ground when he did.

"What's up with you?" Tom asked, laughing slightly. Marco's head shot up, as if he was shocked that Tom was the one knocking.
