"I don't think I've ever been this tired." Marco groaned as he collapsed on his bed. Tom nodded and collapsed next to him. "I just want to sleep for eighty years. We can sleep holding hands so it'll be like we're growing old together." Marco laughed slightly. Tom lifted his head and sighed, rolling himself onto his back.
"We're back to that subject?" He asked frowning.
"Tom, don't worry. We don't have to be back to that subject for a long time. For now, just grow up with me? We can worry about that when old age is a thing we have to worry about." Marco insisted.
"But that's the thing Marco, you keep rushing into situations that could get you killed and I can't do anything about it because adventures are your favorite thing! So i have to just be worried about you all the time, and one day I'm going to sit here worried about you waiting for you to come home and you wont come home." Tom groaned and shoved a pillow over his face.
"You don't have to worry about that. We're fifteen Tom, you don't have to worry about whether I'm going to come home or not. You just have to worry about having fun while your a teenager." Marco smiled, intertwining his fingers with Tom's.
"Sixteen." Tom responded.
"What?" Marco asked, sitting up. Tom pulled the pillow off his face.
"Sixteen, I'm Sixteen. Yesterday was my birthday. March 23rd. And I spent the whole day worried I would never see you again." Tom frowned, sitting up to look at Marco.
"Y-you didn't tell me it was your birthday." Marco frowned.
"I wanted the day to be about you. All I wanted was to spend the day on the beach with my favorite person in the whole world and admire how pretty my boyfriend is." Tom sighed, brushing hair out of Marco's face and frowning at the bruises and scrapes on it.
"I spent my last birthday sitting alone with Kelly with no one knowing it was my birthday because you were dating Star." Marco frowned.
"Is that my fault? I didn't even know you liked me then." Tom frowned back, pulling his hand away from Marco's face.
"I wasn't blaming you!" Marco responded. He could tell they were about to fight, he had never had a real fight with Tom before. He would always hear about Tom and Star fighting but, he never had a real fight with him himself, not while they were dating at least.
"Really? Because it sure sounded like you were blaming me from taking you away from your best friend!" Tom argued.
"I didn't say you took her away from me! I never said that!" Marco yelled.
"But you think it right? You're mad because when I was dating Star I stole her from you even though she was your best friend? Right?" Tom yelled back, standing up from the bed. Marco rolled his eyes.
"Yeah! Is that what you want to hear? That I was mad? Because I was! I was in love with someone who loved someone else and the one person I wanted to be there for me was my best friend and you stole her from me!" Marco joined him in standing, the corners of his eyes stung. He didn't understand how Tom could be so mean.
"Maybe we should just break up then! Y'know since I'm stealing you away from her now!" Tom's eyes glowed slightly, but Marco's face drained of all color and energy, his anger faded, he stared blankly at Tom, hoping that he just heard him wrong.
"What did you just say?" Marco whispered.
"I think you heard me." Tom responded, clearly still mad. "If you feel so strongly that I stole her from you maybe I should give you back to her."
Marco stared at him, his eyes watering. He tried to brush the tears away but they kept coming back. "If that's how you feel maybe we shouldn't have gotten together in the first place." He whispered, his voice breaking.
"Then consider us not together." Tom frowned, walking out the door. the second his back was to him, Marco collapsed, falling to his knees and sobbing. He kept brushing the tears away with his sweatshirt but more just kept coming. Tom heard him hit the ground and winced. He could feel actual pain in his chest, he hadn't felt that before, not when he broke up with Star the first or the second time, never, he only seemed to feel it with Marco. Maybe we're better off without each other He thought to himself. If he feels this pain then we must be. The second he had turned the corner down the hall he disappeared, going home to cry to himself in his bed.
"M-Marco?" Star questioned as she walked past the open bedroom door. Marco still sat on his knees sobbing, Star rushed in and sat next to him. "Marco, what's wrong?" She asked softly, trying to comfort him.
"Tom- Tom broke up with me." Marco sobbed, crying into her shoulder. Star was shocked.
"I've never seen you cry this much." She mumbled. "Let's get you into bed okay?" She smiled softly, lifting the still sobbing Marco into his bed and tucking him in. "If you need anything ask me okay? I'm here for you." She assured, rubbing his back.
Marco fell asleep with Star still there.
"Marco, dude. You have got to get up and take a shower." Janna groaned. It had been three weeks since the breakup, Tom and Marco hadn't heard or seen each other since, probably because one of them hadn't left his bed.
"I showered this morning dude." Marco laughed with a mouthful of cereal, he shut the fridge door and made his way past Janna to go back to where Star was waiting for them in her room.
"If you showered this morning why do you smell so bad?" Maisy asked, giggling.
"This, is my breakup shirt. And I have been wearing it since we broke up. Once I take it off and clean it I will officially be over Tom. I'm uh... I'm not there yet." He explained.
"I'm sorry, that's insane." Janna laughed walking in front of Marco backwards. Maisy laughed at the girl in front of her.
"Awe Jan, go easy on him. He just lost his soul mate." Maisy pouted dramatically.
"Yeah, but as we speak we're losing braincells so what's the harder loss?" Janna laughed as Maisy snorted and pushed Janna into Star's room.
