“I'm so excited that my stomach is in a jiggle-jaggle of nerves. There they go again. Jiggle. Jaggle. I'm a mess.” ~ Susane Colasanti

I reached home and ran to Anushka and hugged her. She started laughing. Gaurav was confused with our behaviour. I danced around her and she laughed even more.

“He took my number,” I squealed with delight.

She looked at me and smiled. Gaurav came and sat next to her still puzzled.

“You have to let me date him. Please. Please. Please,” I pleaded to Gaurav.

“Miss here, has a long standing crush on Mr. Akash Mehra for ages now,” Anushka explained it to him.

“Akash?” he asked. He started laughing too now. I looked at him with great expectations.

“You want my permission?” he asked with a shocked expression.

“Uh-huh,” I said nodding furiously.

Anushka was looking at both our expressions as if she were watching a tennis match.

“You will have to get off the case,” he said.

“I don’t care,” I said in one breath.

He smiled now. He came and hugged me. What was wrong with him?

“You have my permission,” he said with a laugh, letting me go.

I squealed again with delight. I went jumping to my room. Anushka and Gaurav started laughing.

I tidied up my room. I was so jumpy. I couldn’t sit quietly. Finally the excitement got to me and I lay down on the bed tired from the entire thrill. Anushka came in my room.

“Are you done bouncing up and down?” she teased me.

“If I had more energy, I would have jumped,” I said with a smile and a wink.

“I am so happy for you,” she said and gave me a hug.

“Thanks for sending me back,” I told her.

“It was my pleasure,” she said sincerely.

“We are going out for dinner. Interested?” she asked.

I didn’t want to leave. I was exhausted.

“No I’ll order in,” I said. “Have fun,” I added.

“You too,” she winked at me and left.

I ordered a pizza for myself and poured some wine for myself. I wanted to celebrate. The pizza arrived shortly. I planted myself in front of the television and sifted through the channels. I finally settled on watching Serendipity since it was the theme of my life right now. Midway through the movie I cleaned up all the pizza mess and got my blanket out. I lay on the sofa watching John Cusack search for Kate Beckinsale at Bloomingdale’s.

After the movie ended on the ice rink with the both of them finally united, I couldn’t help fantasizing about Akash and me. I carried my blanket inside my room and brushed my teeth.  I planned on reading a book. My phone beeped just then. I checked my phone to see a message from Akash.

Good night! See you tomorrow :)

I was smiling now. I replied to him. I kept the book aside. Thinking about him was all I could and wanted to do.
