I nodded, taking a deep breath.
"Look Virgil-" Roman began
"No, no. It's ok. I get it. I was just a drunk hook up. It didn't mean anything." It hurt to say, but I knew it was true. Why try to lie to myself?
"What? No!" Roman had looked up "That's not what I was gonna say." he sighed a little biting his lip "I... I really like you, like a lot."
"What?" I stared blankly at him, surprise evident in my voice.
"I mean I get you don't like having attention drawn to you, so I understand if you don't want to date but... I really do." Roman scratched the back of his head, blushing a bit.
"No, I mean I'd really like to date you, I'm just surprised you want me." I chuckled a little "You could get any girl in the school, and probably half the guys... yet you like me? The weird outcast."
"Of course I like you Virgil." he looked at me like it was obvious "I mean, I'm friends with Patton, I've heard how nice you are. On the rare occasions you and I did meet in passing, you always made me laugh. Not to mention last night I learned how good you were at-"
"Ok!" My ears were hot and I was smiling as he laughed
"So are we... boyfriends?" he laughed
"I guess we are."

"So it was opening night, right? And my costume still wasn't finished, they finished sewing it the scene before I had to go on!"
"Oh my god!" I snorted "I still can't believe you were a theatre kid in highschool."
"Yep, I was even the head of the drama program from junior year on." Roman bragged a little.
"Oh god, I would have hated you in highschool." He laughed "No like seriously, I despised theatre kids, they were too much of everything."
"Oh really, how so?" Roman challenged me
"Too much singing, too much talking, too much dancing, too much makeup, too much-"
"Ok, ok! I get it!" He laughed, looking up "Oh this is your apartment right?"
"Yeah, it is." I sighed, I was actually having fun with Roman.
"Well, let me walk you up Kitten."
"You are not calling me that." He laughed. "Really."
"Whatever kitten."
"Roman!"
