Jack's POV
I look at the city prison Alex stopped in front of. I feel my palms shaking so much.
"What if he doesn't give the diary up?" I ask Alex in a panic attack voice.
He places his hand in mine and smiles. I try to relax, but I couldn't.
"Don't worry. Just tell the truth," he says as he lets go of my hand and exits the car. I open my door and got out.
I walk into the conference room and see it's so dull. Just a table, then the two cops at guard always. I sigh as I try to remember what to do.
I hear the door open and shut really loud. The police guards are not in the room but outside.
I'm scared.
"Hello gorgeous," a boy a little older than me maybe talks to me. He flashes his yellow teeth and I roll my eyes.
"I need your diary," I demand simply. I cross my arms and the guy scoffs easily.
"I don't have it. My ex has it. You remind me a lot of her. Dana? The one with my journal. She thinks I am irresponsible," he replies to me.
"Where does she live?" I ask getting a little angry. This guy reeks of desperation.
"I bet you are dating your best friend like I did. He's a bad ass too, but does stupid stuff. Maybe even hiding something huge from you. And-" he explains.
"How the hell do you know Alex and I? Alex wouldn't hide anything from me. He promised," I tell Luke.
"I'm a reader. I can see the future and present. He's hiding something from me. It's huge. He's leaving you," he tells me.
Alex wouldn't do that to me. He promised.
I stood up.
"Dana lives in an old house North from me," he answers me finally. I see the door open and headed out. "Remember what I said Ms. Jackson," Luke tells me.
I walk to the car and get in.
"How'd it go?" Alex asks.
"I got what we need. Let's go North," I demand.
"Got you babe," Alex responds starting the car.
There was a long silence between us.
"You'll never leave me right Alex?" I ask him breaking the silence.
Alex's POV
I look at Jack and only one answer came to my mind.
The plane ticket.......
"I never will. We promised," I lie to her and kiss her hand. She smiles and lays her head on my shoulder as I drive.
I broke three promised already.
