Chan couldn't help but let Hyunjin's words play over in his mind as he watched Changbin and Jisung in the kitchen. He was sat at the dining room table, drinking a cup of coffee and watching the two through the door as they attempted to make cupcakes. Neither were very good but Jisung was better than Changbin.
If what Hyunjin told Chan was true, he wouldn't have minded. He'd probably slept with half of the girls in his year by the time he graduated high school, but what bothered him was the fact Jisung had been lying to them. He put up a facade of being innocent and telling them that he'd never kissed anyone before, but how true was that? If Jisung could lie about this, what else could he lie about?
After Jisung and Changbin had put the cupcakes in the oven, Chan stood up from where he was sitting and walked into the kitchen. "Jisung, can I talk to you?" He asked, arms folded over his chest.
If Jisung was being honest, Chan had started to scare him over the past few days, ever since he returned from going to find Hyunjin. He hadn't told either of the boys what had happened or even if he'd found him, but he'd been cold ever since which made Jisung cling to Changbin more than usual. "Alone?" Jisung asked, looking back at Changbin, "can't Binnie talk with us too?"
"I don't think you'll want Binnie knowing if it's true."
"Is everything ok?" Changbin inquired, placing a hand on Jisung's shoulder, "what's wrong? What can't I know?"
"I-I don't know," Jisung mumbled. Chan remained where he was, staring at Jisung with his arms folded over his chest. Jisung felt as though lasers were being shot at his body, giving him an uncomfortable and almost painful feeling in his stomach. "Ok, we can talk," he decided.
"Great," Chan sarcastically smiled, turning on his heels and making his way upstairs towards their bedroom which finally had two double beds pushed together. Jisung had noticed that Chan slept as far away from him as possible since they got them and even though he acted as though it didn't hurt him, it did. Not only that but it made his anxiety skyrocket again. Falling out with Chan or Changbin was what he'd feared would happen from the start and he was starting to wish he'd stayed at his aunties house, even if his uncle wanted him gone. Maybe Chan had gotten sick of him already.
Chan sat down on one of the beds and Jisung sat on the other, at least a meters space between them. "What do you...what do you want to talk about?" Jisung asked, looking down at his hands which he'd noticed had begun to shake already. He tried to go over the breathing exercise Chan had told him in his head but it only reminded him of Chan being angry at him and made things worse.
"I found Hyunjin that night," Chan said, turning to face Jisung with an empty look that sent chills down Jisung's spine when he looked up for a second. He had to look down again as soon as he looked up, the stone-cold exterior being too much for him. "He told me...something."
"W-what was it?" Jisung asked. He didn't know what Chan was going to say next, there was so much Hyunjin could have said and that scared Jisung, especially when it had clearly affected Chan so much.
"You told me that you'd never made out with anyone, right?"
"Um," Jisung mumbled, feeling his face heat up from such a subject, "Yeah, I hadn't made out with anyone before..."
"So you just skipped straight to sleeping with half of your high school football team?" Chan asked in such a sharp tone that it felt like a knife had been stabbed through Jisung's chest. He froze on the spot, the only part of him moving was his shaking hands which had become uncontrollable. "Did you?"
"N-no," Jisung stuttered but Chan didn't believe him.
He scoffed, "you have guilt written all over your face, Jisung. You lied to us."
