Burgess and Ruzek went to their domestic disturbance call. Ruzek got out , still talking Burgess's head off about a television show years ago that she never watched or cared for.

"I just don't get why they changed the style on the second season of American Dragon : Jake Long. It just really ruined it but still the plot , was way better second season."

"I bet it was."

Kim Burgess adjusted her ponytail before knocking on the door. The door opened to show some man. He had tall with a big gut and nasty dreads.

"Why the hell are you here ?" He shouted , blowing weed in their faces.

"We got a domestic disturbance call. We need to come in and check some things , make sure that everything is fine." Adam said quickly before almost pushing the man to walk in.

"There's no problem so you can leave."

"Can't do that." Adam told him. "So sit tight."

Him and Burgess looked at each other before he nodded his head upstairs. Kim went up the stairs and peeked into the rooms and closets and bathrooms for anyone or anything.

"So why do you think you got a disturbance call against you ?"

"The neighbor's don't like me."

"Why ?"

"Why does it matter ?"

Adam Ruzek looked around to see no one else in the house.

"Who else lives here ?"

"My bitch and her two kids."

"Not a way you speak about women but you seem to not care." Adam said with a big smile before going to the pictures on the wall. "Cute kids, you a good step father to them ?"

"I'm not a father to those kids and I will never be."

Adam Ruzek was about to say something but he stared at the pictures. A woman in the photos was too familiar. He was having trouble remembering where he seen that face before and then it clicked. It was Laura Dawson. Antonio's ex wife.

"Did her ex husband send you ?" He asked. 

"I don't know her ex husband." Adam Ruzek lied." Your name is ?"

"Melvin."

"Good, well Melvin, you have a nice day." He said as Burgess walked downstairs. He quickly  grabbed her arm and dragged her out of the door.

"Why are we leaving so quickly ?"

"Get in , I'm driving."

They got in and drove off. Kim looked at him.

"What was that about ?"

"That house doesn't look familiar to you ?"

"No, why would it ?"

Adam stopped and pulled over, moving his fingers through his hair , making it stick up in the front.

"That was Antonio's old house. The house that Laura has now with the kids. That was her new boyfriend."

"Oh my god." Kim spoke covering her mouth. She turned to him. "We need to tell Antonio about this-"

"We can't do that, he will blow up and not think about his actions. The last thing he needs to do is to lose his job and the possibility of seeing his kids."

"Then are we going to do Adam ?"

"We do our jobs. Investigate."

The two drove back to the precinct and went back inside. Adam looked down at the petite brunette.
