Chapter 17

~Jake's P.O.V.~

"Who is she on the phone with?" I asked Andy; he didn't seem to be listening to what I said. " She is probably on the phone with Violet, they are always on the phone together," he replied shocking me. I sat there for a second to see Dakota get off the phone, she sat the phone next to her but didn't seem like her usual happy self. Why whats wrong? Before I realized what was going on I found myself on at the back door with my hand on the knob. Am I really going to do this? I thought to myself turning leaning on the door. I finally decide that it was now or nothing. I sat down next to her on the porch swing I tried to not to sit that close, but It was hard because it isn't very big.

I KISSED HER!!!!! And she kissed me back well sorta because I pulled away cause I was really nervous and have no idea why I did. I figured out who she was on the phone with. It wasn't Violet it was her mom saying happy birthday. Dakota was crying a lot, but I don't blame her. She never get to see or hear for her parents, that must be hard on her. I don't know what I would do without my parents. I think they are the only reason why I am in this fucked up world. She cried a lot not really saying too much. She got up leaving a soft kiss on my cheek. I sat there smiling like an idiot. A cool gust of wind picked up making me shiver, my shirt was almost soaked from tears. I finally walked up to mine and Jinxx's room everyone was in the dinning room playing cards, but Dakota it sounded like she was in her room listening to her music softly through her big speakers. I walked over to door and pressed my ear to the door, I could hear her and she was crying. I guess she turned on her music so no one could hear her cry. Was she crying because of me? I went and lay down on my bed. I checked Twitter, all of our fans were asking if we were going in warped tour this year. We were trying to keep it a secret as long as possible to surprise the fans. I logged off of Twitter and check my text. To my suprise I only had one text and it was from Dakota.
D~ Hey I am really sorry for crying so much. Could you come here?
J~ Yea I will be there in a second.
I got out if bed and changed my shirt before walking down the hall I reached her door and knocked very lightly. It took only a couple seconds before Dakota was grabbing my hand and pulled me into her room. She say on her bed and I sat on her black circle chair near her bed. "What's up," I said trying to keep her from crying
"I needed someone to talk to, and she stopped before looking at the flop. "You know I am here for you no matter what happens," I said getting up from my chair and sat next to her. She hugged me tightly I hugged back placing a light kiss on the top of her head. She broke the hug looking up at me. I never realized how pretty her green eyes are. "You are so beautiful," I pulled her into me after I said it. She hugged back luckily. "Thank you Jake thank you for everything," she said pulling just a little bit away. "You shouldn't be thanking me, beautiful. I think I should be the one thanking you," I said looking down at her. She smiles her beautiful smile and spoke "No I don't believe that is how that works."
"I think it does."
"How?" She looked at me puzzled.
"For not slapping me when I umm... kissed you.". I fell silent but it wasn't like a bad silent. Dakota pulled away from me but didn't seen to be bothered by what I said.
"I kissed back so there is no reason for you to say sorry."
"I know but I'm still sorry," I said looking down at the ground.
"Can I ask you something?" She asked as I looked at her puzzled.
"Go for it."
"Well how do I put this.. Okay why did you come outside when I was outside you could of just stay inside like the others did?" I tried to convince myself to tell a lie but I couldn't lie to her.
"Well umm.. me and Andy were in the living room and I wondered who you were talking to.. Andy said thy you were on the phone with Violet. And he got up and left. Around the time you hung up the phone, you didn't seem happy and I felt like you needed comfort so I went outside." I said hoping she didn't think I was a freak. She didn't she say there smiling at me.
'I wonder what she would say if I asked her out on a date?' I thought to myself. I looked into her eyes slowly moving in she seemed to be doing the same. Our lips made contact softly but passionately. The kiss didn't last long with the sound of Andy opening the door saying, "Have you seen... oh sorry never mind." Dakota spoke up first "Can you knock first next time please."
"Yea I didn't know Jake would be here."
"Well he is" she said very sarcastically.
"I know I'm so sorry I'll go," Andy said walking out shutting he door behind him. "Dakota can I ask you something?" I said nervous.
"Yes of course Jake" she said happily.
"Would you like to go on a date with me this Saturday?" I said looking for an answer in her eyes.
"Yes!!" She said while grabbing my face crashing her lips into mine. I am so happy she said yes.
