Aight, I'm watching X Factor right now, so why not have a one shot themed around it? This hopefully makes up for my last Michael x Reader, so enjoy some cute, simple fluff! P.S. the judges are from the early days cuz Simon, Louis, and Sharron are such OGs lol.

"Number 18402, the judges will see you now."  A voice from over the loudspeaker boomed. I nervously fiddled with my number clipped to my f/c top. This had been my dream since I was seven! Now, I'm here at the X Factor.

And I'm here to win.

Luckily, I've watched this show for years, so I know the judges quite well. Unfortunately, there was a new judge.

He was my age.

He was funny.

He was charming.

He was shy.

And he was incredibly cute.

Every time he would appear on TV, I would start blushing madly. My best friend, Jane Seymour, always teased me about how I would practically melt at the sight of him if I was accepted into the show. And, of course, she was right.

And here I am now.

And my number was finally called.

As I was walking towards the audition room, a lady with weird white yarn stuff in her hair came storming out, fuming on how she "wasn't a number." Weird people here.

I walked in, smiling shyly at the judges. Simon looked like he had just been through a tornado. Louis and Sharron also looked a bit in shock, but they seemed less stunned. Man, that last contested must had been pretty bad. But then my eyes met with a pair of gorgeous chocolate brown ones.

It was Michael freaking Mell.

My celebrity crush.

She smiled shyly at me, giving me a small wave. I could barely wave back. I felt my face burning up already. How was I supposed to get through this audition without making a huge full of myself in front of Michael AND tv?

"Alright, what's your name?" Simon asked tiredly.

"OH! Um, my name is Mich—I MEAN Y/N! Y/n l/n," I said like a fool. I could see Michael and Louis chuckle a bit. I'm so screwed.

"Alright then, stand on the x. What are you singing?" Simon asked while gesturing to the red "X" on the floor.

"Uh, I'll be singing f/s," I said, slightly glancing at Michael and giving him a shy smile. He gave me a shy smile back. Louis gave Michael a small nudge in the side and a smirk. I couldn't help but notice Michaels face turn a slight red.

"Louis, Michael, is there something wrong?" Simon asked suspiciously, looking back and forth between Michael and I.

"Oh, uh...no! Just talking to Louis!" Michael quickly stated.

"Alright, then, off you go," Simon replied, nodding me off.

I started to song normally, keeping my pitch. But my eyes started to wonder over to Michael. He was dreamy staring at me, enjoying my average-sounding voice a little more than the other judges. Was it possible he was showing interest in me? Just little ol' me who is not famous or cute like him? As I was melting at my own thoughts and fantasies, I forgot the lyrics.

Crap crap crap crap crap crap—

The instrumental of the song lumbered on as I had my mental panic. I was looking at the judges, who were all eyeing me awkwardly.

"I'm, uh, I'm s-sorry, I forgot the l-lyrics," I managed to murmur out.

"It's alright," Simon said while chuckling. He seemed to be a little TOO happy about something. The music shut down, and all eyes were on me.

"Well, usually we all would give you a yes or no, but maybe we should leave the judging up to...someone else," Louis said, eyeing Michael while smirking. Sharron excitedly smiled at me, mouthing I think he likes you. Simon gave me a reassuring smile and cleared his throat.

"Alright, let's leave so Michael can make a..clear-headed decision," Simon said quickly.

"Well it seems when Ms. l/n here is around, I don't think that's possible," Sharron said, giving Michael a wink. Michael and I's faces turned a very deep shade of red.

"Alright, very well then. Michael, it's your choice. Yes or no?" Simon said, looking at him with a small smile.

"I, uh, well....um...this is a lot of pressure," Michael mumbled, laughing awkwardly. "But, y/n, I really believe in you. I think y-you have great talent! Your really gorgeo—I mean, um, your voice is gorgeous! So, uh, yes! It's a y-yes from me!"

My eyes widened in shock. My celebrity crush just told me my voice was gorgeous and gave me a yes! Give me a sec.....

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"THANK YOU! Oh! Um, I mean, thank you so much, Mr. Mell," I said, trying not to squeal.

"No problem! And, please, call me Michael," he exclaimed while laughing. It wasn't an awkward laugh like usual, though, it was an adorable, genuine laugh that made me want to hug him.

So I did.

I barley could feel my Converse walking over to him. I hugged him. I resized what I was doing, and felt my face start to burn up out of embarrassment. I wanted to pull away, but I couldn't. Before I could apologize, Michael wrapped his arms around me. He was shaking a bit, but that didn't stop me from enjoying that moment. I was in the middle of that pure bliss moment until I heard Louis and Sharron chuckle as Simon quietly said, "I didn't know you could fall in love so fast, Michael."

We quickly pulled away, our faces burning up. All the judges were smirking at us as they laughed at our flustered selves.

After a minute, I thanked the judges and was about the walk out, but Michael grabbed my hand. I really thought that I was going to die.

"Um, if you don't mind, do you maybe wanna...go grab some lunch since it's my l-lunch break. I mean, don't feel p-pressure to go or anything—"

I cut him off by silently giggling and saying, "I'd love to, Michael."

Ah yes, nothing like getting casually asked out by your celebrity crush. No big deal. Very casual.

"Awww, you two are great together!" Sharron called to us as we walked out of the room.

"INVITE ME TO YOUR WEDDING!"

"LOUIS!" I could hear Simon and Sharron yell.

Michael slowly pulled me closer, and I pinched myself when he wasn't looking—just to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

Nope, not dreaming.

AHHHHHHHHHHH—

I've been really bored during Quarantine and I've been binging the X Factor. In my opinion, I enjoy the earlier days of the show. If you haven't watched it, you totally should lol. P.S. If you get the reference In the beginning of the story about the angry contestant, than your awesome. JK, your all awesome. Have a stellar day!❤️🦙❤️
