After Dib walked me home, we exchanged phone numbers so that we could contact each other outside of school. He told me to give him a call if Zim or the green dog robot sidekick GIR appears. I wasn't really sure if I was going to actually call him or not, I sort of have phone anxiety when it comes to calling people.

To my surprise, my parents didn't question me about my day. My mom made dinner and that was that. Not much too the evening. I went upstairs to take my nightly shower and got ready for bed.

I smiled in awe at my beautifully messed up bed. It looks like pure heaven. I face dive into my pillow and pass out.

My nuisance of a alarm clock woke me up from my slumber. I wanted to cry due to the fact that I had to get up and get dressed for school. I groaned loudly and tiredly, causing a knock on the wall to sound out. "Shut up!" My sibling screamed. I rolled my eyes and stood up. I went to the closet and chose my outfit for the day. I did my morning routine and went downstairs for breakfast. Afterwards, I waited for the bus to show up. When it did, I tried not to pull a Dib and ran out to it, successfully making it on there.

I waited for Dib and his sister Gaz to get on the bus. We stopped at a strange looking house. It looked rather interesting. It was a dark blue and looked like a futuristic home. I glared at the house. "Stupid rich people." I muttered but then shut up as Gaz and Dib walked from the door and onto the bus. "Oh wow." I said aloud.

Dib sat in the seat aside from me. "Hey (Y/N)! Ready for a 'fun' day at school?" Dib asks me in a sarcastic kinda way. I scoffed playfully. "I guess." I replied. Gaz shot a look at his brother, telling him to be quiet. I wanted to tell her the same and that since she's younger she should respect the older sibling. I decided to keep my mouth shut and carry on conversations with Dib until we got to school.

By the time we got there, Dib asked if he could walk me to my locker. I didn't really mind since we're friends. The odd thing was that he was a little too close for comfort. Dib was scanning the area, I guess he was looking for Zim. I called him out on it. "What's up dude?" I asked him, causing him to look at me with a small but awkward smile. Dib bit his lip. "You were really scared yesterday when I saw you, so I'm trying to protect you in case Zim comes and gets you again." Dib admitted with a small blush. I couldn't help but blush myself. Does he like me? Or was he just being a good friend and had my back? I'm not too sure. Boys are complicated.

And speaking of boys, the devil himself otherwise known as Zim came over.

"Move aside, Dib-Worm. I have something to give to the (Y/N)." Zim rings out. My blood ran cold as soon as me and Zim locked eyes, knowing those weren't his true eyes. Dib blocked his path from me. "No way Zim. I'm not letting you scare her again." Dib protested against him. I stood there feeling useless.

I noticed that in Zim's hand that he had something that looked like a muffin or a cupcake. The green boy glared at Dib frustratedly. "I am here to give her this pork-cow!" Zim galled at Dib, showing him this "pork-cow." Dib snorted and pointed at the thing. "That's a muffin Zim." Dib pointed out. I peaked around Dib's side. Zim saw me and became almost jubilant. "(Y/N)! This is a, uh, apology gift from yesterday. Please accept it. FEEL HONORED TO BE GIVEN A GIFT BY THE MIGHTY ZIM!" Zim shouts as he shows me the muffin. I couldn't help feel slightly guilty. Warmth started to build up amongst my body. Zim's eyes looked to be kind, unlike when I saw him last.

I smiled softly at Zim. I reached out to take the muffin from his hand, but Dib swipes it off of Zim's hand. The muffin fell to the ground, now contaminated by the putrid dirt of the school's floor. Zim looked like he was shattered in a million pieces. I was utterly shocked at Dib; who was standing there like he accomplished the biggest job ever. "Nice try Zim, but (Y/N) isn't going to be poisoned by your muffins!" Dib spat at Zim. The green boy clenched his teeth. My arm was then tugged by Dib. I didn't know what to think. Maybe Zim could have done something to that muffin, but Dib didn't have to act like a jerk about it.

I swiftly moved my arm away from Dib and walked away from the two, leaving them both looking at me. Down the hall I could hear them argue.

These two boys will be the death of me.

There's no muffin emoji, so enjoy the cupcakes instead.

What do you think, did Zim do something to that muffin? Why's Dib being so overwhelmingly protective of you?

Pork Cow or muffin?
