It was the third day of school, not very thrilling but at least today was going to be different from yesterday.
Zim and I are officially friends and Dib is not going to be happy about that.
I decided today that I would walk to school rather than getting on the bus. I was paranoid that Dib would cause a scene about me and Zim being friends and everything.
"Hello (Y/N)-Friend!" A ringing voice sounded out. I turned to see that it was Zim, who was walking militaristic. I smiled at the sight of him. "Hey how's it going?" I greeted him, but he didn't respond to me. Zim was bragging about how good he was about walking on the sidewalk, as if he were a real human. I wonder if he forgot, somehow, that I knew that he was not human. "For an alien, you adjust fine with human civilization," I told him. He stopped dead in his tracks. "I AM HUMAN." The boy shouted, causing a few heads to turn.
I shook my head at him. When people returned to whatever they were doing, Zim pinches my arm causing me to wince. "As a friend of Zim's, you do not reveal my identity to the disgusting Earth creatures, understand?" Zim hissed in my ear, causing chills to go down my spine. "Alright." I squeaked. Zim chuckles quietly. "Good human girl." He gives me this sinister kind of look, which I wasn't afraid of. He looked more goofy than anything. I just thought I was going to pass out from what he just said.
"What are you doing to (Y/N)? Huh Zim? Are you telling her to destroy all human kind, cause I'm sure she would!" I heard Dib run up to us. He must've saw Zim get close to me, but I guess he didn't see Zim pinch me. I wonder why Dib was here. Was he following us? Than again after knowing Dib for a few days, he was good at missing the bus. Dummy must have missed the bus again.
"Oh puh-LEASE Dib. You're only mad at me because I'm hanging out with Zim and not with you." I snapped at him. He glared at me. I heard a low chuckle behind me. "YES! Me and the (Y/N) are such good friends! We hang out." Zim announces to Dib. Warm feelings started to spread up my body when Zim said "hang out."
"I see. I thought (Y/N) wasn't into aliens." Dib says, crossing his arms and rolling his hazel eyes. "Well even if Zim is an alien-"
"Which I'm not!" Zim cuts in. I just gave him a blank look as he stared into my soul. I took a deep breath and continued with what I was saying to Dib.
"He is still a cool dude to talk to." I admitted to Dib. He furrowed his eye brows and shook his head. "Well then, I hope he doesn't hurt you then." Dib mutters. With that, he took off leaving me and Zim standing on the side walk. Zim begins to laugh."Stupid, stinking human." Zim says, still giggling a little bit. I couldn't help but feel a little bad for Dib. I know he seemed jealous of me and Zim's new friendship, but I knew Dib before Zim. Dib was the first person who helped me here. He is only trying to protect me.
Of course, Dib never did reach out to me when I relocated schools. He didn't seem to care about what happened with me and my harassment back in the day. It was always about the paranormal and his ego, it was never about me and our friendship. But now, only being reunited only for a few days, after many years of not talking to each other, Dib acts as if nothing had happened. Maybe in his head if his, I was always here. Who knows. Even if I was still here, Dib would have never notice.
"Human? Human? (Y/N)!" Zim yells at me, causing me to fall out to my state of thinking. "Sorry I was thinking." I awkwardly admitted. "Yes I could tell. We are now late to school because of your 'thinking.'" Zim said as we heard the distant school bell go off. I felt my heart drop.
I never intended to be late to school. Even if I was, it was never on purpose. Time sometimes get the best of me.
"Oh no!" I cried as I ran to the building, but I felt Zim grip his hand...or claw around my wrist. "No human! We will be sent to the Locker of the Lates!" Zim feared for me. "I can't go back in that horrible locker." Zim sneers to himself, shutting his purple fake eyes tight. I stopped resisting and looked down at Zim's...you know what I think it's a claw so I'll call it a claw...at Zim's claw, still wrapped around my wrist.
"Then what do you suggest we do then Zim?" I question him. He opened his eyes back up and looked into my eyes. I felt warm again.
"We will go to my place." Zim answers me. I smiled shyly. "Okay...I'm sorry I made us both late for school." I apologized to Zim as we were now walking the opposite direction.
"Don't worry (Y/N)- Friend. Zim forgives you. I don't like school anyway." Zim admits to me as he still held onto my wrist. "Besides, I want to hang out with you rather than being in a room filled with those nasty humans." Zim adds in, making me nearly faint.
