Chapter 7: Escape

When Zim said that, I felt my blood turn cold. I needed to get out of here immediately. I had no idea what Zim meant by "erase my memory." Whatever it meant, it obviously didn't sound good.

Zim slowly reaches his arms out, attempting to grab my body, but I managed to squirm out of his space and I sprinted to the door. I heard Zim squeak and run after me. "GIR, restrain the human!" Zim commanded to the little robot, who was eating a bag of nuts in the corner. I heard a strange sound and a dark voice that shouted "yes my master!" I then heard metallic sprinting towards my direction. When I turned around for a second, I saw GIR with red luminous eyes and some parts of his body were red. He jumped towards the door before I could get there. I started to inch my way back, afraid what GIR was going to do.

To my surprise, GIR turned back to his original teal color and displayed a goofy grin. He then opened the door wide open and led me out. I thanked the robot silently as I continued to run out of that green little house. I heard a angry screech from Zim and his scolds to GIR. I felt bad for the tiny robot. I was glad to know he was on my side, or at least just happy to be here.

It was dark outside. How long was I passed out for? It must have been a few hours at least. My home was ways away. I didn't really know where I was. All I remembered was the bus I ride to school goes down this street. I hurried up my pace and before I knew it, I ran into something by mistake. I tumbled to the concrete and landed on my bum. "(Y/N)? What's going on?" I heard a wobbly voice. I lifted my head to meet Dib's chestnut eyes. Without thinking, I wrapped my arms around Dib tightly. I felt his body tense up. I started to cry. "Dib I'm so sorry!" I sobbed into him. I felt his arm snake around my waist awkwardly. "Wha-What are you talking about?" I heard Dib ask rather confused. I pulled away, my face wet with my tears. Dib's face was beet red. "Zim..." I trailed off. "You were right about Zim being a-"

"HUMAN!"

I shrieked as I hid behind Dib. I saw Zim walked his way towards me and Dib. Zim was now wearing his human disguise. Dib crosses his arms across his chest. "Zim!" Dib spat as Zim glared at Dib. I peeked behind Dib's back, only to see Zim look at me. He almost looked slightly remorseful until Dib started to speak again. "What did you do to (Y/N)? Hmm? HMM?" Dib interrogates Zim.

"The (Y/N)-Human witnessed something she should have not seen." Zim exclaimed to Dib. "She saw your true alien-self?" Dib guessed correctly.
"No...?" Zim tried playing it rather cool. Dib wasn't stupid to fall for Zim's antics. "Whatever you want from (Y/N), you'll have to get by me!" Dib replies. I felt slightly underestimated.

"We'll see about that Dib-Worm!" Zim hisses. "And as for you," Zim turns his head, now speaking to me, "don't think you're safe. No one can escape the almighty Zim!" He shouts and raises his arms triumphantly. I was confused by his words. I did escape him. "But I did...?" I trailed off with a question. Zim didn't find that very amusing.

"You are not safe." Zim threatens to the both of us. Zim grins, trying to make me and Dib afraid. "You have not seen the last of Zim." He says in a harsh tone. Zim then finally walks back to, I guess I'm assuming his house.

Dib turns to me, obviously having many questions. "What did you do?" Dib asked me seriously. I was speechless. "I-I don't know! I was bringing Zim some snacks that I had and I didn't know he had robots as parents and a dog-bot that talks!" I ranted to the boy. He shook his head in disbelief. "I bet you believe me now, don't you (Y/N)." Dib says in a snarky manner. I couldn't help but nod slowly. I was just so scared to think straight.

Dib noticed this and soften his sarcasm. "Hey, I'm sorry. How about I walk you home and you tell me everything that just happened. Is that okay?" Dib offers to me. I smiled and let a tear escape my eye.

As we were walking, Dib didn't push me too hard with his questions. That was surprising considering this guy asks about everything he sees. I couldn't help but wonder, what would of happened if I didn't escape and let Zim erase my memory of ever seeing him as a alien? I wonder if he would have wiped out my entire memory.

I wasn't too sure but school sure is gonna be awkward tomorrow. Did I mention that this was only my first day back in public school? Such a crazy start.
