India is a skilled chess player.
As someone who's been playing the games for several centuries, he's a difficult opponent, and even the nations who have a more natural talent for chess have a very difficult time beating him; if they beat him at all.
(Chess was believed to have originated in India sometime before the 7th century. It was supposedly derived from the Indian game of chaturanga.)
