Chapter One

A/n: Hi guys!! This is my first story on wattpad so plz no hateful comments. Thanks to all the people that have/are giving me supportive comments. I will be doing author's notes in and out bc I'm super boooooooooring. My life, I mean. Anyway, I love to write and I would like some constructive criticism sometimes. I always try to improve. In the comments tell me my grammar or spelling mistakes (if any). I'm listening to Howl by Florence+the machine while writing this. You might not like it, but look it up and listen before you judge. Also, I will try to update in the afternoons some days, but don't count on it. I take 2 mile walks on most days so I might not update then. Plus the homeschool stuff I need to do. I can't wait to see how many reads I get once I'm done! Sorry for the long author's note. I'll get on to the story. Byeeeeeeeee guys!!!!!!

"DEX! WHAT THE HECK DID YOU DO TO MY SHAMPOO! MY HAIR IS GREEN NOW!" Sophie screamed when she got to Dex's house.

"But I thought it was teal. You know, your favorite color. I thought you'd like it." Dex chuckled. Obviously Dex was the one who put an elixir in Sophie's shampoo to make it turn her hair green. Sophie was done with him pranking all of her stuff and insanely irate about it. In the last two months he had made her nose leak purple goo that she prayed was not snot, made her voice go squeaky like Sandor's, made her skin turn a vibrant yellow color, made her smell like a thousand decaying, farting iggies and made her have tiny bright red spots all over her body. And now this.

"Why did I have to force Edaline not to make mallomelt at our sleepover. Or any other snacks. I'm so dumb." She wanted her friends to bring food to the sleepovers that they did or have them at other houses for a change. That probably wasn't a valid statement, though. They couldn't go to Dex's house, because even if Bex, Lex and Rex were eight, they still acted half that and they couldn't go to Keefe's house because of the daddy issues getting in the way and ruining the entire thing. They couldn't go to Tam and Linh's house because Tiergan might not like so much company and they couldn't go to Fitz and Biana's house because he was in a permanent temper about when Sophie and Keefe found Alvar in Atlantis in the alleyway of the shop they were going to go to because of a bet Keefe lost. And of course Fitz goes insane when anyone mentions even just Alvar's name. The only sensible place to go would be Sophie's house. So everyone brought their snacks. And Dex's, by far, was the worst elvin food item she had ever seen. It smelled repulsive, too. Dex was teased for weeks and weeks about it, so he'd probably had enough and got Sophie back good.

"I think you've paid me back good. Now stop." Sophie demanded.

"No! Keep Foster looking ridiculous! This has been the best week of my life!" Keefe barged in and said. Sophie glared at him with a big scowl on her face and Keefe burst out laughing in an instant.

"Maybe I'll stop or maybe I'll keep going." Dex said with a mischievous grin on his face.

"Anyway, since when did you get here Foster?" Keefe asked.

"Since Dex turned my hair green." Sophie replied in a mad tone of voice. She could tell Keefe didn't care about her current emotion status, but it probably made him laugh even harder. She couldn't stand Dex for how he humiliated her. She went to go and pushed Keefe out of her way with telekinesis because she wasn't strong enough to physically do it. She ran into the front yard of Rimeshire and used her home crystal to leap home. Once she reached the animal sanctuary/yard of Everglen, she dashed up to her room. Grady and Edaline were surprised that Sophie didn't at least say hi to them as she passed by but she would be too busy trying to cover up the hair incident for the next two hours. She had only messed up her hair more by tangling her hair into a green birds nest. Virtina had commented on it at least more than seven times. Edaline knocked on the door.

"Can I come in Sophie? I can help you with your hair." Edaline called.

"You can come in." Sophie sighed. The door slowly creaked open and she saw Edaline walk in, pull up chairs for Sophie and herself, and started brushing. It was silent while Edaline was combing Sophie's hair, so she decided to strike up a conversation,

"I bet I can guess who turned your hair green." Edaline said.

"Then who did it?" Sophie countered.

"Was it Keefe?" She asked.

"No." She answered

"Then who was it?"

"Dex........." Sophie barely managed to squeak out.

"Is that who's been making you have weird things happening to you," Edaline asked," because we thought you got sick with some sort of flu."

"Nope it was just Dex." About an hour passed before she was done, but her hair was still green. She asked Edaline if she could try to find an elixir to turn her hair back to normal so she went to Slurps & Burps to search for it. After 25 minutes and 43 seconds (yes Sophie counted) Edaline was back with the right elixir. She had to drink it and the green color would slowly fade away and give her back her original hair color. She chugged it down in one gulp and hoped it would start working in an instant. Please let me remember if I have any other plans today, Sophie thought desperately. Then all of a sudden Biana popped into her room.

"Who's ready for- WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO YOUR HAIR?!" Biana shouted.

"Dex pranked my shampoo and, well...... this happened." Sophie blurted.

"Dex is a dead man. A very dead man." Biana swore.

"So your not going to laugh about this?" Sophie questioned.

"No way. I'm going to tell my brother it was Dex's idea to keep the Alvar thing from him. Brother rage will activate all over him." Biana said for some reason in all seriousness.

"I can't wait to see that." Sophie teased. Both of the girls giggled at the idea until they were lying on the floor, gasping for breath.

"So what are you here for?" Sophie asked in between breaths.

"Don't you remember? We planned to have some girl talk today." Biana reminded her.

"Oh yeah! Sorry I forgot. I was too stressed out with my freakish hair color." Sophie said apologetically.

"Your fine. You should have been doing that anyway. Don't want your hair to look like puke for tonight!" Biana assured her.

"What do you mean? What's happening tonight? I'm kinda in a daze from all the yelling I did at Dex." Sophie asked worriedly.

"Tonight is one of our annual sleepovers! This time we're going to get our match lists and read them."
