Keefe felt his head throbbing ferociously, and he was almost about to throw up. He opened his eyes only to hurt his sensitive head even more. It looked to be early morning, the sun's rays shining on everything in sight. The trees and grass were covered in morning dew- wait, what? There aren't any big pieces of nature in his room. Once he realized he was not in fact in his bed, he felt himself start to shiver. He didn't realize how much colder mornings could be in winter, or how much snow can cover a person during the night. His vision was swimming in front of him, and his body felt like it was slowly forming into a Keefe-shaped ice block. He slowly started to sit up, and he could already tell he would not be able to stand up. The throbbing hurt like if someone was repeatedly throwing big rocks at your head and his stomach was still swaying, uncertain if it should calm down or if it should make him throw up. He felt as if he had come down with something, maybe the flu or he just had a stomach bug. And the throbbing could just have been a side affect of falling over and knocking out. He slowly started to stand up, with black dancing across his vision and a lightheadedness filling his head, making it hard to be balanced. Once his vision cleared, and once the lightheaded feeling was mostly gone, he was breathless once again. He slowly started to walk, wavering with every step he had to make. He did not know which direction he was going in, and was unsure about how or when he would go back home. But he needed to find a way out, no matter how long it will take. Then he heard a faint familiar female voice in his head say his name...
Sophie pov thing
Sophie got word that Keefe never made it home last night, and was panicking about where he could be. Could have got lost in the forest, could have wandered into the wrong neighborhood, kidnapped maybe. Possibilities are endless, and Sophie was pulling her hair out trying to contact him via telepathy, but was not successful in any of her millions of tries. She felt like crying, she was so happy with him so many times, and if he ended up......she would never get over it. And it was all my fault, she kept telling herself. If I had walked home alone, he would still be safe, Sophie continued. She kept blaming herself for everything, she just for some reason can't get rid of the voice in her head telling her this was her mess. Her desperate pleas for Keefe kept erupting from her head, Sophie was not going to give up, he had given her so much that Sophie had to do this for him. After 50 million mor tries, no success yet. She tried one more time, except added a little more to just his name, and was a little quieter. Keefe, if your out there and can hear me, I need you to respond. I am tearing my hair out to find your voice, she thought, and I just want to know if your ok. She started to cry when she heard his voice, he sounded so sad and tired. I'm ok Foster, he reassured, don't ruin today just because of me. I'll find my way home, I promise. Sophie was so full of questions, and was so relieved. I'm so glad I found your wavelength. It was so hard to find, so please don't sever this connection. Sophie pleaded. Maybe I was hard to find because I was knocked out until, like, 2 minutes ago, Keefe pointed out, and what makes you think I would cut this connection, Foster? Sophie could almost feel his smirk in that sentence, back to his usual self. But Sophie wanted to know a little more about this insecure part of him, she wasn't satisfied with just letting him sound so heartbroken and tired without knowing the reason behind it. She wanted him to blurt his problems to her like he let her do. Nothing, she said, but just try not to pass out again. Sophie could practically tell what he was going to say next. Worried about me again, Foster? You do that a lot more often now-a-days. Sophie hated whenever he said that, because every time he said those words she would turn the most bright pink and he would always call her out on it, even in situations like these. I can almost see you blushing, but what can I say? Empaths give you the feels sometimes. Sophie turned even pinker, stupid empath pun. Stop, she said, there are more important things than to joke around. Like what does it look like around you?
You only say that 'cause you always blush, Keefe teased, and it also looks like a forest around me. The thousands of trees are a big pointer. So Keefe was in some woodland area, hmm. There was a forest-y area near the path that leads to his house, he could be there maybe. Sophie decided to take the route to Keefe's house to check the wooded area. She asked her bag with medical supplies, some food from her stash, and some bottles of water. She put the strap over her shoulder and stumbled downstairs, almost cracking her skull a few times. She headed towards the front door to grab her coat and put on her winter gear.
"Where are you going, kiddo?" Grady asked.
"Oh, I'm just going on a walk. I want a little fresh air." Sophie responded.
"Ok, but make sure you don't wander to far from the trail." Edaline reminded her.
"I won't!" Sophie said while slipping out the door.
