Chapter 3: 𝓼𝓸𝓶𝓮𝓸𝓷𝓮'𝓼 𝓶𝓲𝓼𝓼𝓲𝓷𝓰

Cheska's POV

I went ahead of Y/N because I had to go to her father's office to report somethings. The Perez family has been very loyal to the Andersons and me being their for Y/N ever since, her parents assigned me to protect her.

Her family runs an illegal business and has done a lot of shit in the past, I know they're not as perfect as everyone thinks. They just cover up their dirty work.

"Mr.Anderson" I said as I entered his office. "Yes Cheska?" He asked. "I heard from My assistant that my daughter has a new friend, please define this friend" Mr. Anderson ordered.

He is a very demanding person, he could be harsh at some point except to his daughter. "Well according to your assistant he couldn't find information about her" I answered.

"I actually did" David said as he entered. David is Mr. Anderson's assistant. "So?" I asked curiously. "Well the information provided seems fake" David said.

"Well have you verified if it's fake?" Mr. Anderson asked. "No sir" David answered. "Well what are you waiting for go and verify it" Mr. Anderson ordered so David ran out to do as he was ordered to.

"As for you Cheska, just continue eyeing on my daughter, and please keep this Maihua away" Mr. Anderson ordered.

"Well we have a problem" I said with a shaking voice. Gosh even if I've seen Mr. Anderson's soft side, it's still scary to be in front of him and you have to say a bad news.

"What is it?" He asked "It's uhm Maihua, she and Y/N can't avoid each other, the principal assigned Y/N to guide Maihua" I answered.

"I'll take care of the principal and you take care of my daughter" Mr. Anderson said "Yes Mr. Anderson" I said and went out of his office.

He has his own law firm and right under this building is an illegal business, everyone in this building knows even if not all of them are part of the Mafia.

They just don't dare to tell the police or anyone because they know better. The Andersons have connections in the government, they stand no chance against the Andersons.

I didn't go home right away, I kept trying to call Alexis but no one answered. I decided to go to her apartment.

She lives alone, this apartment is a gift from Y/N.
Alexis only has her aunt but is very abusive so she left.

I have keys to her apartment though. I looked around and no one is here. I'm really getting worried now.

Alexis is not the type to just do this, where on earth is she!!! I went to the parking lot cause it seems like I won't get any answers if I stay here.

Walking towards my car I saw a familiar figure that was walking to the elevator. "AP?" I said as my voice echoed.

"Ch-cheska, w-what are you doing here?" AP asked with fear in her voice. "I should ask you that" I said and raised a brow as I walked to her.

"Well..... I..... have an apartment here" AP replied hesitantly. "H-how about you what are you doing here?" AP asked.

"None of your business" I answered and left. Is it a coincidence that AP has an apartment where Alexis also has her apartment.

Who the hell is AP and I figured to text David to search about AP. If we could only find fake information about Maihua maybe we could find somethings about AP.

Y/N's POV

Maihua drove me home and I gotta admit, it was fun to be with her. I offered her dinner and she accepted it anyway. We stayed in my room and just watched and got to know each other more.

It was 9 when she left, I told her to text me when she got home to make sure she's fine. I'm just trying to be a good friend okay?? Nothing more.

We've been texting the whole time, it's quarter to 12 now and my dad will be getting home soon. He doesn't like it when I stay up late, after work he always checks up on me.

To be honest, this is the first time I stayed up this late except when we have events. I never really disobeyed my parents. My mom came home after Maihua left but she's in her office here at home. She works day and night.

I pretended to be asleep when my dad opened the door and when he left I continued texting Maihua.

Next day

It was lunch time already and I was with Cheska, AP, and Maihua. I've felt that there was tension between Cheska and AP but I really didn't bother to ask.

Me and Maihua just kept talking until a student went to me and told me that my dad just came out of the Principal's office.

I'm not nervous cause I never get in trouble, I'm also aware that my dad is a good friend of Mr. Smith.
My dad always gives donations to this school but I always told him to never meddle with my school issues.

"Dad" I said as I reached him, he wasn't looking at me though but instead at the person behind me which was Maihua.

My friends followed behind me so I know. "Dad what are you doing here?" I asked "Well you know I had to visit my friend" He answered but I knew there was more than just visiting Mr. Smith.

"Dad I know you" I said "fine, I went here to talk to your principal that I don't want you to guide Ms. Lee on her first few days here" my dad said and it got me in shock cause why would he.

"Okay then I won't guide her" I answered "that's good to hear" my dad replied "Y-Y/N?" Maihua asked in a confused manner.

"But I'm her friend dad" I said and he looks displeased. "She cannot be trusted" he said which got me confused.

"W-why?" I asked "I just don't like her" My dad answered but it's not a good reason. I can't just... it's hard cause.... somehow I feel like Maihua is someone I don't wanna lose. She's important and I have to fight for her even if it means disobeying my dad.

I've been doing whatever my family tells me to and even if I'm not happy with it like my course. I feel like I'm in prison but I set all these aside because I love my family.

"You're unreasonable" I said "I don't like her as the friend and that is good enough reason" my dad said.
"But I-I LIKE HER!" I said as my voice went up. I saw the pain and confusion in my dad's eyes.

I know I hurt him but I can't just lose someone important just because my dad doesn't approve of it. I just met Maihua but I feel like there's something different in her and I enjoy being with her.

Can't my father atleast let me be happy even once. "Are you disobeying my Y/N?" My dad asked with anger in his voice. "Y-yes" I answered with a shaky voice and there were tears in my eyes.

"Dad I'm happy being her friend and all these years I've been doing what you want even if I'm not happy with it" I said "but Y/N" Cheska said but my dad his hand signing Cheska to not interfere.

"So what you're not happy with everything I gave you?" He asked "it's not about material things dad" I answered and looked back at Maihua.

My teary eyes met her eyes that has no emotion. She turned around and walked away, I was confused and it pained me to see her walk away. AP followed her and my dad grabbed my arm and dragged me to the car.
