Chapter 11: 𝓪𝓻𝓰𝓾𝓶𝓮𝓷𝓽

"Make yourself feel at home" I said as I helped Maihua sit on the bed. She's staying in my house because I insisted on it but obviously my mom would only allow if she'd stay in the guest room.

She was discharged earlier, she still has a hard time in walking on her own, she needs assistance. "You know I have a house right?" She asked "Uh huh" I replied with that.

"Seriously other than that house we held you hostage" she said "but we already talked about this" I said and walked over to her.

I just stared into her eyes and she pulled me down to kiss me. It was passionate but I had to stop her before we get into something I know isn't good for her condition.

"Hey, how would your dad feel about this?" Maihua asked "he'd be upset for sure" I answered. "Well at least he's paying for what he did" Maihua said.

"Uhm..... Maihua, are you sure my father really killed your father?" I asked "why? Don't you believe me?" She asked "I mean you know, you've lied to me before" I replied.

"Well there's evidence in this one" She said "okay I'm sorry but I know it isn't my father" I said. "Seriously? Look Y/N I love you but that isn't gonna stop me from giving my father justice" She said.

"I know but my father is not responsible for this, he's not the one who you're supposed to bring down" I explained. "You know what I'm tired" she said as she laid on the bed.

"I can stay beside you if you want" I offered "no thank you" she said bluntly. I wouldn't be surprised if she'd feel upset about what I said but I just know my father wouldn't do it.

I'm headed out to my father's office I need to find more about my father. I didn't bother to wake up Maihua because I know she needed to rest but I did tell our maid to make her breakfast.

"David, May I talk to you?" I asked politely, "yes Ms. Anderson, what can I do for you?" He asked.

"That day Mr. Lee died, where was my father?" I asked as I sat in front of him "I was with him and I know he had nothing to do with Mr. Lee's death so please Ms. Y/N, believe your father this time" He said.

"The evidences that Maihua handed to the authorities, it all boiled down to my father" I said "It may be fake" He said.

"So you're saying Maihua's lying?" I asked and he just shrugged. "I need your help, if you guys are saying the truth, we need to prove that my father really had nothing to do with Madison's death" I said and he nodded.

"Where is Maihua's uncle anyways?" I asked because he might have an idea "I don't know, but Y/N, Mr. Lee was your father's friend" David said.

"Was?" I asked in confusion "They had an argument, when Mr. Lee was in prison" David said. "Mr. Lee threatened your father's life" David added,

"And why would he?" I asked "Ms. Anderson, maybe this question should be answered by your parents" he said.

"Does my mom know?" I asked and he nodded. "S-so she knows my father is innocent?" I asked and he nodded once again.

"Then why did she call cops on him?" I asked "you might be forgetting that your father runs an illegal business and for these past years, your mother wanted to make everything right when you came into their lives but your father feared of losing his illegal business, he thinks he would be weak without it" David explained.

I'm driving over to my mom's office, I needed to know more about what David said and he's right who would know more than my mom.

"Mom?" I said as I opened the door of her office. "Sweetheart please take a seat" she said. "M-mom" I said hesitantly and she waited for the next thing I would say.

"About dad" I started "why did Mr. Lee threaten him?" I asked and she seemed bothered about it.
"Your father is right, keeping everything a secret would be better but it is the wrong solution" she said.

"It's hard to keep secrets mom, we have no choice but to lie just to keep these secrets so please tell me" I said. "I know you deserve to know" my mom said.

I just waited for her to say what I've been asking for, I guess she just needed to gather courage to actually tell me.

"Your father had an affair" she said and a tear dropped from her eye. I felt speechless, I don't know what to say.

"He had an affair with Mrs. Lee" my mom said and I'm just shocked, Maihua's mom?? Are you serious???

"I-is that why dad didn't want me to go near Maihua? I-is Maihua my sister?" I asked and to be honest I don't wanna hear my mom's answer.

"I don't know" She answered and I couldn't help it, I cried right there in front of my mom who's also hurt, she's hurt about saying what happened and I know she's hurt for seeing me like this.

I stood up and ready to leave, I don't want my mom seeing me like this "Y/N" she said, "I'll be okay" I said and walked out.

I got in the car, I don't know where to go. I don't wanna go home because Maihua is there. The first person that popped into my mind was Cheska.

We haven't been the best of friends for these past few weeks but I'm sure we can set aside our differences. I texted her to ask if I could come over and she replied with a yes.

She brought me to her room because as soon as she saw me she knew right away I wasn't okay. Her parents aren't home so great thing I wouldn't see her dad. I wasn't really a fan of him.

"So.... what's wrong, just a few weeks without me but you're a mess" she said and I just hugged her. She caressed my back to comfort me.

"Just cry it out" she said, her hug meant so much. I felt like I've forgotten everything but no that's not how it works.

"Ches, I don't know what to do anymore" I said as I looked at her "would you mind telling me?" She asked "Maihua might be my sister" I said and she froze in front of me.

"A-are you serious???" She asked in disbelief "would I be crying if I wasn't serious?" I asked. "Well.... isn't that incest?" She asked "you're not helping" I said.

She pulled me into a hug but I broke it once I realized something "wait..... h-how did you know?" I asked "Well I can see how dead you are when it gets to Maihua so I knew you'd give in" she said.

"I feel so disgusted of myself but why does she have to be my sister??? I love her" I said "you are supposed to love your sister" Cheska said and I just rolled my eyes.

I got back my composure now, my nose is a little bit clogged but I'm doing better than earlier. I checked my phone, 35 missed calls from Maihua.

I guess she also doesn't know, she needs to but I don't know how to tell her. I need time to think for now.

I received a call from my mom and I had to think twice if I should pick up but it did. "Mom?" I asked. "Your dad escaped prison" she said.

"What? H-how?" I asked "I don't know, I'll be healing to the chief to see their report on it" she replied.

"Okay, I'm with just with Cheska but I'll be there" I said before I ended the call. Me and Cheska just looked at each other absorbing  the whole situation.
