Chapter 10: 𝓪𝓶𝓫𝓲𝓿𝓪𝓵𝓮𝓷𝓬𝓮

"Is it true?" I asked my dad, he is standing right in front of me and beside him is Maihua. "No it's not" He answered.

"Then why are they saying these?" I asked once again "because it's true" Maihua's uncle spoke up from the side.

He's holding a gun and is handing it over to me, "you have to choose" he said and I felt emotional. My mind has been debating what I should do but I really can't think of any solutions to this, can I just kill myself?? But I can't just leave the people I love.

My father came alone but he did brought a few body guards which Maihua's uncle asked to stay outside. "What if I don't want to choose?" I asked "then I'll shoot the both of them in front of you" He answered.

"Y/N, don't shoot me, I never killed anyone. They're lying" My father spoke up, I can see in his eyes that he's hurting and I look over to Maihua, she's just standing there and her eyes are just blank.

I got the gun from Maihua's uncle and just looked at it. "Y/N just shoot me" Maihua spoke up and when I looked at her she looks really tired.

"Your father is more important to you than I ever will" She said "but I don't wanna lose you" I said softly as a tear dropped from my eye.

"You won't, I will always have a place in your heart and you can love again, someone more deserving than me, you can replace me but you can never replace your father" She said.

Those words hit me really hard but I'm just too scared. "Shut it Maihua, Y/N just choose" Maihua's uncle said with an uneasy voice.

My arms were shaking while I am bringing myself to point the gun at Maihua, I closed my eyes and didn't want to see what I'm about to do.

A gun shot echoed across the room and there were more gunshots that filled the room. I opened my eyes and so no Maihua anywhere, not even on the floor but I saw my father shooting at the men who worked for Maihua's uncle.

All I see are men running around pointing guns at each other. After one gun shot everything went quiet and I saw Maihua's uncle on the ground.

I ran to my father and hugged him, he shot Maihua's father but right now I'm just glad that my dad is alright.

Right after I thought everything was alright I heard another gun shot.

I turned to look and I saw Maihua on her knees, I looked to see who shot her and it was her uncle, that shot was meant for me but Maihua took it.

"Thank you for being here" Maihua said "of course I'm here, you shouldn't have took the shot for me" I said "I got you in that situation, this is the consequence" she replied.

She's laying on a hospital bed and it's been 3 days from that tragedy. My dad is in prison, he's really upset that my mom was the one who called the cops on him.

Maihua just woke up this morning, her uncle was no where to be found. How did that happen? Well I don't know.

Maihua could have been put in jail as well so I had to cover up for her. "Hey don't worry we'll find your uncle" I assured Maihua as I saw her looking troubled.

"I'm just worried that I'm stuck here in the hospital while my uncle is still out there, who'll protect you?" Maihua asked and I just couldn't help but smile seeing how much Maihua actually cares about me.

"Just don't worry for now okay?" I said and she nodded. We received a knock at the door and it was my mom.

"Sorry to interrupt but Y/N, your father wants to see you" My mom said, I looked over to Maihua waiting for an answer.

"I'll be fine here" Maihua said and I smiled, "don't worry I'll be here" My mom said and so I walked out already.

"You wanted to see me?" I asked my dad, I had to visit him in prison, I'm still concerned about him after all.

"How could you cover up for Maihua?" He asked "we've talked about this" I replied. "I am not supposed to be here" He said.

"Dad they have enough evidence to put you behind those bars" I said "I know but please Y/N, I could never. Maihua's father was my friend and I could never betray him" My father said.

"Then where did all these evidence come from?" I asked "I don't know but please believe me, it wasn't me who killed Maison" He said and by the tone of his voice I knew he was saying the truth.

"Just please stay away from Maihua for now" he said "but why?" I asked "all she showed us was fake, it was all a lie, how are you so sure she won't make up new stories??" He asked and I just shook my head in disbelief.

"You've done illegal stuff and lied to me aswell so don't ask me to stay away from her" I said and stood up. I left right away I just couldn't pin point it, something is bothering me but I just don't know what it is.

I'm upset of my father but I know when he said it wasn't him, I'm sure it wasn't him but even if he didn't do it he still needs to pay for running illegal businesses.
