Chapter 2: Guardians of Remnant

Inside the Ship - Destination: Remnant

Amelia POV

We are currently on our way to Remnant's galaxy, and thanks to our newly space travel engine we will get there in less than an hour. I was currently sitting by the couch reading a book while Y/N and Cayde are at the cockpit talking to each other. Olivia is by the armoury fixing her sniper and making some modifications to her gear.

I got bored from the book as I placed it on my lap before leaning back on the small round couch as I try to think of something to pass the time. I can't help but feel all giddy about having Y/N in the same team as me again. It has been too long since we were in the same fire team again. Now that I think about it, the last time I fought alongside with him was about a year ago about a search and rescue mission.

That made me realise about how long I've been away from Y/N ever since I've been preoccupied about the next war that might happen right out our doorstep. But what made me so oblivious was ignoring the peace that we had finally achieved. More importantly the time I could have spend with Y/N.

It made me feel guilty inside as I promised myself before this mission started, that I will do my best to become the big sister Y/N had always loved and looked up to just like when we were kids. Which was why I decided to change my style for him since I remember a time where he would blush so cutely from seeing my near naked body 'parts'.

Speaking about that, another thing that has been wondering on my mind was Olivia. I once heard Y/N told me how Olivia acts around him, that had sparked my curiosity in why she does it. So I decided to ask her myself. "Hey Olivia, do you mind if we can chat for a bit?" I ask her. "Not at all, let me just finish up here then I'll head right over" she says as I nod before placing my book by the round table.

Once she finished, she walked over to the couch as she sat in front of me trying to comfort herself. "What's up?" she asks curiously. "I uh heard you and Y/N had been through a lot together, how long exactly?" I ask her as she nods from the question. "Well I first met him ever since we were still rookies."

I nod my head before saying "Oh that's good to know..... but umm if you don't mind me asking, what do you think about him?" I ask a bit shyly. "Oh Y/N is a great guy. He's charming, loyal, kind, bit of a dork, and an idiot, but overall a great person aside from being a skilled Guardian. Why do you ask?"

She finishes as I started to blush a little bit which I managed to hide it from her. "Well uh you see, he once told me how much you like... teasing.... a-around with him." I say still slightly blushing. "O-oh I uh.... ok here. I m-may have a bit of a c-crush to your brother. I just thought if I act like this around him he would have a bit of interest in me. S-sorry if that was a bit straightforward or out of the blue."

She says stuttering a bit. I just shook my head before saying "N-no it's totally fine, I'd see why you would like him. He is my little bro after-all." Once I said that Olivia had a sly look on her face before she placed her legs by the couch. "That so? Well, how about you? What do you think about your 'lil bro'?" She asks as I blush from the sudden turn of events. Before I could say something I get interrupted by Cayde.

"Hey hey hey, y'girls ready?" He asks looking at us. "Yep just chillin back here. Are we nearly there?" Olivia asks as Cayde sat at the other side of the sofa. "Still got around 30 minutes until we reach Remnant's solar system. Till then I'm gonna hang back and get some shut eye. Wake me up once we're there, if no one does I'll be leaving you guys with this ship." He says semi serious before laying on the couch taking a nap.

"Hehe all right then tough guy. Oh and Olivia, mind watching him for me? I'll be with Y/N by the cockpit." I ask her as she nods in agreement. "Yeah sure thing, I still got some things to prepare before we head out anyway." She said as I thank her before making my way to the cockpit.
