Chapter 17: Friend Or Foe

Beacon Academy - Ozpin's Office

Y/N POV

"BULLSHIT!" I shouted towards Oz as I slammed my fists on his table. Qrow and I were currently in his office talking about the situation a while ago and why he didn't do anything about it. Sure we'd still be in his side for now, but that still isn't going to stop me in knowing why he didn't send any reinforcements during the fight. 

"Mr. L/N I do hope you would understand in why I didn't do such a thing. Send any more forces out there in the city and the people would start thinking that there's a war is going on." He stated calmly as Qrow walked over to his desk with an aggressive expression evident on his face.

Glynda tried to interfere him but Ozpin motions her to stop. "THERE IS ONE HAPPENING RIGHT NOW! How will you win a war if you won't help your allies? Will we need to interfere behind your back again just to save someone out there in danger, or will we have to wait for another one of your amazing decision making skills?" 

Qrow sneered whilst Ozpin had a neutral look on his face. Thinking this isn't getting us anywhere, I went over beside Qrow before placing a hand on his shoulder. He turns to look at me as I shook my head disapprovingly. He gave out a frustrated groan before slowly walking backwards as he leaned on a nearby wall to cool himself down.

"Now that we all released some steam, why don't we talk business?" Ozpin suggested as he simply grab his mug from the desk before taking a quick sip out of it. I then try to compose myself knowing even if I did try to question him, I'd still have to be in his side to at least gather some information about his motives. 

"Right.... during the night I was captured, I was being interrogated by our rogue Guardians whom kept asking me about the codes for the CCT tower here in Beacon. Would you happen to know anything about that?" I asked him in curiosity as I see him nodding before getting up from his chair.

"The CCT towers we have built in each kingdom is a way of contacting one another. It is how we broadcast and communicate ourselves from one kingdom to another. If someone was able to hack into one of the four here on Remnant, they can have the ability to retrieve classified information as well as broadcast any sort of feed on that specific kingdom. Though I'm not quite sure in why they would want to get in touch with such a thing." Ozpin explains as we all stood quietly in front of him, wondering what we could do. 

"Unless they're hiding somewhere near us and gathering information behind our backs, huh.... I'm feeling some sort of deja vu ain't that right Qrow?" He simply gave out a shrug as we all look towards Ozpin who was still 'conflicted' with his choices of action. "Again, I apologise for the earlier inconvenience, I was only hoping you may gather some information about the Winter maiden from them as you had to go through their harsh treatment. I promise to not stand by and do such a thing again, you have my word."

I let out a sigh as I crossed my arms. "Though you are kind of right in a way. During my time in that bunker, I heard a bunch of small talks about having a hideout by an abandoned building of sorts. Maybe that cou-" Before I could continue a beeping noise was heard from Ozpin's desk as we all look at it in interest.

Oz walked over towards it to answer the call, only to reveal a hologram of General Ironwood. Ozpin then pressed down a few buttons until the hologram was projected towards the middle of the room so everyone could see him. "Gentlemen, Glynda. I've received reports of an unknown military organisation taking post right on the outskirts of downtown Vale. We believe they may hold crucial intel about what Salem's plans are as well as her allegiance with the Corrupted Guardians. Or as we would like to call them 'Shadows.'"

He briefed to us as I started to brag about in front of them "Told you guys..." Qrow stood up properly before heading towards hologram while crossing his arms. "All right then, when and where do we break in to this 'mysterious' warehouse?" He asks as the hologram of Ironwood faces towards Qrow.  "The safehouse of theirs is located in an abandoned SDC storage warehouse. It is just at the outskirts of the city and a good place to operate in the dark. We'll need to infiltrate the warehouse discreetly if we'll want to gather resourceful information. Once we set out the alarm, they'll be burning all the files along with the information about the unknown Shadows of whom Y/N and his team have yet to know more about."
