Chapter 21: Evil

Atlas Academy - Ironwood's Office

Ironwood POV

Those moments where you think everything will go according to plan, only to see them start to fail so miraculously. What makes it even worse is I don't even know what Ozpin's game plan is. First he wants to double cross those Guardians, only to have them working by his side again later on. The other thing is that he has another alias of which I was not aware of, causing me to get anxious to what else he has to hide from us.

But one thing is for sure, I will not let Atlas get caught up in his schemes. No matter what. I change my gaze as I stood by the window of my office, taking in the view of our prestigious academy. I simply sighed as I muttered to myself quietly. "I've always trusted in you Ozpin, don't make me change my mind now."

In a matter of seconds, the doors to my office were opened as I turned around to see Winter. She walked towards the middle of the room, saluting towards me. "It's all right Winter, any news on the others so far?" I asked with a hint of hope, only to notice Winter look down in frustration saying "The whole operation was compromised. The Guardians and the others are currently trying to make their way towards the extraction point we held out around the perimeter. But that's not the only problem as of the moment..."

I place both of my hands behind my back as I slowly walked around my desk, standing near her. "Winter, what happened..." I asked both curiousity and anticipation. She hesitantly looked up to me with a squinted look. "Beacon Academy has been breached behind our backs." My eyes widen as I slowly prop my arms back down.

Having to act quick, I went over to my desk before attempting to contact Ozpin or any of the Vale departments. "Come on.... COME ON!" I slammed my fists on the desk as I looked towards Winter with a furious look on my face. "Gather some of our forces and send them back to the Academy to find out what's going on, and assign Mr. L/N about this. Something tells me this is something more than just an attack..."

She nodded with cooperation before saluting off, heading towards the exit and commanding some troops through the radio. I tried contacting Oz over and over again only to see it 'Connection Failed' displayed on the hologram. Groaning in frustration, I grabbed my handguns on my desk before quickly holstering them by my waists as I head on outside to inform the rest.

Y/N POV

"This..... is getting....... REALLY ANNOYING!" I panted out as I continued on slashing towards a group of Beowolves and shooting down Nevermores. I looked back to see Qrow and Tyrian battling each other, as our two Maidens held back any incoming Grimm or Taken behind us. I let out a quick sigh as I tried to run over to Olivia who was posted on a fire escape just between the alleyway we were at.

As soon as I went up behind her, I my hand on her shoulder to grab her attention. All of a sudden, she tripped me by my legs causing me to fall on my ass with an 'oof'. She then climbed up on me with the butt of her rifle in the air, about to knock me out of my misery. I quickly disintegrated my mask to reveal my face.

"OLIVIA STOP IT'S ME!" I screamed out with my hands placed on her arms to prevent her from hitting me with her long ass sniper rifle.. "Y/N!? Has anyone ever told you to not sneak up on someone if they are in THE MIDDLE OF A BATTLEFIELD!?" She scolded as she quickly climbed off of me with her rifle placed on the ground. Shaking it off, she deactivated her own mask so she could hear and speak better.

Picking myself up, we both crouch down to a nearby cover to prevent ourselves from being seen so we could have a quick talk. "Anyways, everyone else is holding their own so far. Have you managed to contact Team RWBY and Cayde?" I asked her as I notice her propping her rifle back in between the staircases, talking in between gunshots.
