Mystic Falls, 2012 -

Wolfgang regarded the hybrid with concern. Klaus was stood by his own, his blue eyes fixed upon the blank canvas as he held a paintbrush so tightly Wolfgang could tell it would snap at any moment. The hunter cleared his throat as he stepped forwards, prompting Klaus to turn around and face him.

"Wolfgang." Klaus breathed, saying his name with relief. Klaus would never admit it, but Wolfgang could tell that he'd missed his best friend. The vampire nodded as he pulled Klaus into an embrace, holding tightly onto the friend he had thought was dead, "Niklaus."

"Well, it seems that you're free of Nachtstern and I have cheated death." Klaus mused after he pulled away. Wolfgang nodded and Klaus sighed, "I take it you're leaving?"

The vampire frowned, wondering if Klaus was being serious as he crossed his arms. Wolfgang met Klaus' gaze, the ocean meeting the earth as Wolfgang shook his head, "I'm not leaving just yet."

"Why not?" Klaus questioned, "You helped me with the ritual, aided me in creating hybrids, killing Esther and Mikael, and now, you've destroyed Alaric too. You've paid your debt back in full, my friend."

"This isn't about my debt, Klaus, you need me." Wolfgang replied, taking a step closer to the Original Hybrid, "Rebekah's forsaken you, Kol is killing his way through Vegas, Elijah is God knows where. You have no one."

Klaus grimaced, uncomfortable with the observation as he shook his head. The hybrid ran his tongue over his bottom lip before he spoke, "I assume there's a point you'll be making."

"I'm the only one you have, Niklaus." Wolfgang explained, "Because I'm the only one who fully understands you, just like you're the only one who understands me."

"Brothers in all but blood." Klaus commented with a smile and Wolfgang nodded as he twisted his daylight ring around his middle finger, "When the sun sets, we're both the same, Klaus. Half in the shadows, half-burned in flames."

Klaus looked at Wolfgang with narrowed eyes and the Nachtstern vampire returned his gaze, the two staring at each other for a long moment before Klaus' lips curved upwards in a smirk. The hybrid walked towards a decanter set on a table and poured two glasses of bourbon, handing one to Wolfgang, who took it with a nod.

"The Hybrid and the Hunter. The unbeatable duo." Klaus toasted and Wolfgang clinked his glass against the Mikaelson's, "To taking whatever the hell we like."

"To doing whatever the hell we want." Klaus added and the two held their glasses in the air as uniform smirks appeared on the friends' faces, taking a sip of the bourbon before they spoke simultaneously.

"Consequences be damned."

Present Day -

Nachtstern opened his eyes slowly, taking in a breath as he did so before releasing it. The Hunter fixed his cold eyes on the entrance to the crypt, waiting patiently for his plan to continue. Truth be told, Nachtstern was growing impatient with the silence on Hope's end. All he needed was the tribrid and a damn witch, preferably a Saltzman twin, and he could continue with his plans for genocide. Was that really too much to ask for?

"How much longer until you kill us?" Landon spoke up and Nachtstern rolled his eyes as he turned to him before speeding over to the Phoenix and snapping his neck, watching his body drop to the ground. The Night Star exhaled, a smile playing on his lips as he watched Landon's temporarily dead corpse.

"That felt good." Nachtstern said and MG sat in silence, thinking over Wolfgang's instructions. He had been compelled to silence and couldn't really divulge the plan to anyone. Not that they would understand the vague commands, MG wasn't really sure that he did. Nachtstern smiled before turning to MG, "And here she comes."
