Wolfgang approached the car as he spotted Hope arguing with another student. The vampire pursed his lips as he stepped closer.
"I have actual magic powers." Hope countered as she squared up to the werewolf. Wolfgang had to admit, her fierce nature was truly stunning , one of the Mikaelson qualities he admired.
"And an unkillable vampire bodyguard." Wolfgang added, drawing attention to himself. Hope glanced over her shoulder at him and rolled her eyes. Wolfgang ignored the silent treatment and faced the werewolf.
"I have no qualms with killing you so I suggest you listen." Wolfgang continued and the student seemed not to waver.
"I can't let you go after Landon without me." The boy insisted and Alaric walked up behind them as he made his way to the car.
"Rafael can come." Alaric said and Hope crossed her arms in disbelief, "What?"
"He knows Landon, which makes him an asset." Alaric replied before he turned to Wolfgang, "I did not okay you coming though."
Wolfgang smiled as he stepped closer to the headmaster. Alaric clearly did not trust him and Wolfgang knew exactly why.
"That's too bad. Where Miss Mikaelson goes, I follow." Wolfgang replied, walking past him, "Oh, and don't worry about my past. I won't tell if you don't."
Hope smiled in spite of herself and followed Wolfgang to the car, where she sat besides him, back to ignoring his existence. Alaric sighed and turned to Rafael.
"Fix the car and put on a shirt."
**********
Wolfgang breathed in deeply as they took in the ruined bus. The carnage was absolute but Wolfgang was already desensitised to it. He had seen worse. Hell, he had done much worse
"He has an entire day's lead, why would he still be out there?" Hope asked. Rafael shrugged and walked forwards, "Maybe because he has no reason to run."
"Or maybe it's because he's a pathetic human with little stamina." Wolfgang added. Hope tried her best not to acknowledge him but Rafael glared at him. The vampire ignored him and continued to walk, whistling as he ventured deeper into the forest. Along the way, they lost Alaric, not that Wolfgang really cared.
"What exactly happened on that bus?" Rafael finally asked. Hope stopped and faced the werewolf.
"No one really knows." The tribrid replied, unconsciously glancing over at Wolfgang, "The bus was incinerated from the inside."
"It could be a lot of things. The best guess is that the knife was imbued with a large amount of destructive magic that Landon triggered." Wolfgang explained. Rafael nodded and continued to walk until Hope spoke again, "It doesn't matter because I'm going to kill him."
"There's no way I'm letting you do that." Rafael said, "Landon has been there for me. He was the only thing that kept me going after my girlfriend died."
Wolfgang rolled his eyes at the sentimentality and Hope scoffed, "Appreciate the passion but maybe you should focus on making better friends."
"Why? So I can be as popular as you?" Rafael questioned. Wolfgang paused and so did Hope. The vampire was going over quick and painful ways to kill someone in his head when Rafael only made things worse.
"I've been at the school two days and I already know all about Hope Mikaelson and her sunny disposition." Rafael added. Wolfgang sped forwards and grabbed him by the collar, slamming the werewolf into a tree.
