when i first met elliott, he was looking for a goblin. i was bored so i helped jim set out reese's pieces and soon, an alien came to elliott's house with the peanut butter chocolates we had set out. never in a million years would i have thought i would have saved an alien.

it was really late, like 11:55 , and greg had already passed out cold. we had finished a pizza and i was laying back looking at the stars. "ada, did it hurt?" tyler asked.

"when she fell from heaven?" steve laughed.

"no when she fell off her bike. twice." tyler said.

i pushed him. "yeah it did. but i'm tough. you know you would've cried." i replied.

"no i wouldn't have." he said.

i gave him a 'you wanna go down that road' look and sat up. he only smirked and i laid back down. greg was in a sleeping bag on the ground along with steve. michael set up a random cot he had found in his shed. he laid on my left, tyler on my right, and steve and greg infront of us.

gerties expression when she first saw et popped into my mind. i giggled. "whats up, barnhill?" steve said.

"oh i was just thinking i guess." i said.

"about tyler? you know he likes you, right?" michael teased.

i looked at tyler. "no i don't. don't listen to him, ada." tyler says.

that made me feel kinda sad but what was i expecting? him to like me? in my dreams.

[tyler pov]
i cant believe steve said that. and then i had to lie to ada. oh, god, i wish i could just tell her! but it would ruin everything. even if she did like me back and we, i dont know, got together... if we for some reason broke up, our friend group would hurt, too. i guess i'm imagining the worst possibilities.

[steve pov]
i'm no idiot and i knew ty was lying. he would occasionally flirt with paige lowe but it was nothing like with ada. he flirted a lot with ada.

[ada pov]
well that stung. that might've hurt a bit more than the scrapes.
