chapter 10

[tyler pov]
i didn't want ada to leave but i guess she wanted to. we watched her head off and i watched her until i couldn't see her anymore. "you do like her, don't you?" steve says.

i just now realized greg and michael went back in the house already. "don't be a douche." i told steve.

"so you do??" he says with a smile.

i try to hide my smile but kind of fail. "wow, i knew it! she likes you too, ty." he told me.

"yeah right. even if she did, what if we broke up or something. it'd be weird." i said.

"how would you feel if you told her you couldn't date her so she dated someone else?" steve said.

"i'd be mad..." i respond.

"exactly! so don't let her be with anyone else. she likes you and i'm surprised you didn't notice." steve said.

he walked in the house and left me with my thoughts.

[ada pov]
i sat on my bed, staring at the carpet, for a few minutes, actually. well, until my mom called for me. "ada! there's someone here to see you!" she said.

i walked down the stairs. i was hoping it was tyler or at least one of the boys. my mother was standing by the door so i walked up to her. "you know davy. he is in your 3rd period. he wants to go on a bike ride. see you after?" my mom says as i turn and see a boy walking down our driveway.

"oh, uh... sure, mom." i say.

my mother walks away. i get on my bike and head down the driveway. "uh, hi, davy." i say.

"hey, ada. want to ride together?" he asks.

"sure." i smile.

davy was 15 and rather good looking. he was about as tall as michael, and michael's pretty tall. he was in the "popular" group of boys, though.

we start pedalling down the street and soon we reach a small pond. "let's go look at it." he says.

we both park our bikes and walk towards the pond. he sits down as i stare into the water. "why did you want to hang out with me anyways?" i ask.

"because, ada, i've always kinda had a crush on you..." he blushes.

"really??" i asked confused.

"yeah! i just never knew how to tell you. i figured since school is getting out soon, i should take a chance, y'know?" he says.

i nod and step towards him. "you seriously like me?" i say.

"yeah... who wouldn't?" he asks.

tyler. i think.

"so... do you like me back?" he says.

something tells me i like him and something tells me no! no way, ada! "a little." i smile.

"would you want to, i dont know... go out sometime?" he asks, standing up.

i couldn't believe david freeman was asking me out. "sure. call me when you get a chance." i say.

"ok." he smiles.

"i should get going now. bye, ada." he says, walking to his bike.

"bye." i say.
