[tyler pov]
ada started to walk to the phone but quickly turned around. "before i pick the phone up..." she started.

i swallowed hard because i didn't knkw what she was gonna say. "thank you. you guys are really great friends and what you said was what i needed to hear... thank you..." she looks at her feet.

i decided i was gonna tell her and i didn't care that we were infront of michael, greg, and steve. "ada i-" "hang on let me answer this before the ringer runs." she cut me off.

"hello... yes, this is ada." she smiled.

"oh, hello! sure." she giggled.

"oh." her happy expression went bleak with a bit of fear.

"oh o-ok..." she said in shock.

i looked around at the boys. they looked worried. "sure." ada said, kinda panting, and rested the ohone back down.

"well who was it?" i ask.

she inhales sharply. "d-davy..." she says.

"what's wrong?" greg asks.

"he said to meet him by the pond at 3:00 and to make absolute sure that i am alone... i have a bad feeling about it. he said it would be more, i don't know, romantic. bleh. i just don't feel good about it." she says, sitting on her bed.

"could you guys mybe come just in case, but stay out of sight? i may just be paranoid but i don't like the way he said it..." she said.

she trembled a bit. i knew she was scared. "sure. sure, ada." i sit next to her and pat her on the back.

she smiles at me. she said she hated smiling because of her two crooked, bottom teeth. she was still pretty. it won't be easy to watch her go on a date with someone else but i know she doesn't feel to hot about the situation.

[ada pov]
i was really creeped out by the way davy explained it. i may just be paranoid but i felt a great amount of weight come off of my shoulders. "we'll hide behind the old willow tree." michael says.

"weeping willow..." i say softly, looking at the floor.

"yeah that. what about it?" michael said and i shrugged in response.

"let's watch a movie while we wait." i say, wiping my eyes because i thought i let a tear escape.

"hey ma. we're using the tv, can you dig?" i asked.

"sure, a. make sure you turn it off once you're done." she replied.

we walked to the living room and i sighed as i sat on the couch in between tyler and michael. after flipping through channels, we found something we could agree on and we watched tv until 2:55.

"tylr come upstairs real quick, i need your help." i said.

i still liked tyler. a lot. but he didn't like me. my mother told me that she liked a boy in high school and to get him to like her, she had him watch her try on clothes. apparently it worked because they ended up marrying.

"whatcha need help with?" he asked me, sitting on my bed.

"picking out a jacket. this flannel or this sweater?" i ask.

the flannel was just basic red plaid and the sweater was a thin, navy zip up. "i like the navy." he replied.

"ok..." i said.

i put the flannel in my closet and put on the sweater. i only zipped it halfway. "so?" i asked.

[tyler pov]
i think she knew what she was doing. i think it was working. she had only zipped up her jacket a little bit so her chest was still showing, along with something else... was i complaining? no! but i don't want davy to see her in that...

"you look very nice ada." i say.

she looks shocked. "are you... being nice?" she asked.

"i've only seen you nice to paige and that was when she dropped her books." she says.

"did i not comfort you earlier?" i smirk at her.

"there's the ty i know! that smirk is your signature and when it's not on your face there is something wrong." she smiled.

"come on." she said, taking my hand in hers and pulling me down the stairs.
