Chapter 15

Its friday and Jasey hasn’t been here the past two days. I’ve been wandering around aimlessly and lost. Yesterday at lunch John sat with me and Halia, but today is an orange day and I have lunch with Victoria. She wants me to start sitting with her on orange days because she is determined to make me popular even though I keep insisting that I’m okay being well I’m friends with a lot of people, but I don’t hang out with them after school, so I’m not a loner but still. I’ve had a lot of time to think these past days.

“Hey so come on the table’s this way” Victoria said coming up to me just as I had reached the salad bar.

“Okay I’m coming, let me just get some salad dressing and I’ll be over there.” I told her finding my favorite dressing.

I walked over to the table and sat down. So far it was just me and Victoria. Eventually about eight more people joined us and I started to get nervous. Of course it wasn’t very awkward for the others. Finally the last two people were walking over and sitting down. So now there was ten people that I barely knew and I was kinda scared. I was just about to eat my salad when I heard a shriek. Everyone at the table looked up to find it was coming from a girl named Bri.

“That is disgusting!” She yelled pushing her tray away from her. Everyone looked up at her as she continued “There’s a bug on my salad. I’m not eating this anymore.”

“I hardly doubt theres an actual bug on your food.” Someone told her.

“Yes there is, look for yourself.” She said passing it around.

“You can even see the little legs!” The a differnt person replied.

We all continued to pass it back and forth until someone had the great idea to bring it up and complain about it. We all watched the faces of the lunch ladies as they did just that. They left the lettuce there and walked back.

“What’d they say?” Victoria asked.

“Oh that its not their problem, the lettuce comes from a bag and then they wash it. So they can’t do anything about it.” She said still grossed out. We all complained about it a little more and then someone named Zach spoke up.

“Ok guys, I say lets all take a minute to bow your heads and say thanks to god for this wonderful food.” He took a short break then added “and this bug.”

Everyone just stared at him before he finished “just kidding!” and then everyone broke out laughing. A little bit later the lunch bell rang and we headed off to our next classes. I had science and than algebra both of which flew by pretty fast.

I was on the bus home listening to my ipod because none of my friends where on which was just plain boring. I got home and jumped on my laptop. I got home and logged onto skype. About twenty minutes went by and I heard a familiar truck coming. I looked up and it was my grandparents.

“Well you guys are coming down to our house for the weekend because dad has to work all weekend ok?” They said looking at me. I shrugged and went to get some clothes. We then took off to their house and I got back on skype for a little bit. Eventually I heard my gram call for me. I went to her and she handed me the phone.

“Hello?” I said warily.

“Hey bitch!” Said an excited Kassidy.

“Who you calling the bitch, you fucking cunt?” I said joking as only a best friend could.

“So I’m in Jay right now, you wanna come sleep over this weekend? So ask right now cause we haven’t hung out!” She said.

I looked at my grandpa and asked. After a minute he said yes because he knew how much I wanted to see her.

“Yeah give me half hour and I’ll be there.” I told her grabbing my stuff. I shut my computer and grabbed my stuff heading out the door. We were just about to cross the bridge when we heard a train coming. It was extremely long and took about twenty minutes to pass by. Once it did we restarted our journey and headed to meet Kassidy at McDonalds. We were just pulling up looking for her when her car pulled up too. I saw her mom and smiled really big. I then opened the door and stepped out of the car.
