"Sweetie who we're you talking to last night?" Sabine asked as she took her young daughter out of her room, "kitty, " Marinette answered and then pointed to where Cat Noir was but Sabine didn't see anything. "I don't see any kitty Marinette, maybe you dreamed the whole thing. " "no, " Marinette protested, "why don't you eat something and then you can back to play with your kitty,  okay? " Sabine stated and Marinette agreed, having a couple of cheerios and half of a banana. "Kitty, " Marinette said leaving the table and running up the stairs to find her playmate. Sure enough he was still there with a mischievous grin on his face, "welcome back princess I missed you, " he said "kitty, " she called out hugging his leg. "Actually my name is Cat Noir, but kitty works for me, I heard your mom call you Marinette, is that your name? " He asked kneeling down to her level, she nodded "play, " she insisted "I'll do anything for you my princess, " Cat noir said bowing and Marinette giggled.
Four years later
"Mommy look at the drawing I made! " Marinette said happily showing her mother the pictures she had drawn of Cat Noir, he was her best friend and she wanted to give him this picture as a gift. She felt bad that no one ever saw him, except her, she didn't know why that was, Cat Noir was the best. He was super nice, funny, and kept her safe, one time when she was four she wondered off by accident due to chasing a Ladybug and almost got hit by two teenagers on bikes, luckily Cat Noir was there and he pulled her away before they could. She also had another gift for him, she would need help with it but since her mom had made her lucky charm she wanted to make him one too. "Oh that's very nice, would you like to hang it on the fridge? " Sabine asked sweetly "no I drew this for Cat Noir, he's been looking sad. " Marinette said "oh why is he sad? " Sabine asked playing along 'one day she's going to realize her imaginary friend isn't real, ' she thought to herself. "Because kids can't see him and that makes him sad, I don't want my kitty to be sad. " Marinette declared, and then ran upstairs as she did so, her pink hairband feel off and her pigtails came undone. "Kitty I'm back,  " Marinette said approaching Cat Noir who was sitting by her window patiently waiting for her. "Oh hello princess, " he said picking her up and giving her a warm smile, she laughed and gave him one as well "is that for me? " He asked noticing the picture in her hand "uh huh I thought it make you less sad, " Marinette admitted handing him the picture, he admired the picture for a minute and then said "thank you Marinette it's beautiful, " "does it make you less sad? " Marinette asked cautiously "very much, " he said and then she gave him a kiss on the check, "I love you kitty, " she said smiling. She had said alot to him and even though it warmed his heart, he knew that one day she would forget he even existed and say those words to a mortal man that she attends to marry. He hated that once she turned fourteen, he would leave and erase her memories of him so he could find another child that needed him. If he had his way he would stay with her forever, but even that wasn't possible if a Guardian stays longer than they're supposed too, their powers and immortality will start to fade until they die. So whenever she said that he gave her his honest answer, "I know princess, wait a sec what happened to your cute pigtails? " He asked suddenly noticing that her pigtails that he loved so much had come out, "oh no I think my band fell off, " Marinette said worried she was in trouble "don't fret Marinette, I'll give you a new one. " Cat Noir said pulling out a red hairband from his pocket "is that magic? " Marinette asked amazed "sorry princess but thats a secert, " Cat Noir said placing the red hairband in her hair and redoing her pigtails.
