Chapter three: promises

"Kitty when can we get married? " Marinette asked "what? " He asked turning a bright red, why was she asking that, she was only six. "Well in princess movies, they get married to a prince so I want to know when we are getting married. " Marinette said as if it was the most simple thing in the world, "well umm, " he stammered. What in the world was he supposed to say to that? "Oh no did I make you upset I'm sorry, " Marinette said feeling ashamed that she may have hurt his feelings, "you didn't princess its just no one has ever said that to me. " He admitted holding her close, it  wasn't the first time he had, whenever she had a nightmare or was upset because of Chloe, a girl who extremely disliked. He would hold her until she felt better, "does that mean you won't marry me? " Marinette asked "your a bit too young for that princess, I think you should wait until your old enough. " Cat Noir told her "okay kitty but you have to promise you won't marry anyone else, " Marinette said teasingly waving her fingers at him, and he pretended to be offended. "You wound me Marinette, I would never be unfaithful to you. " He said placing his hand on his heart "I don't know what that means but okay, " Marinette said smiling "Marinette darling you have to come down and get ready too meet your teacher! " Tom called "oh but I don't want to go to school I want to play with my kitty, " Marinette complained "you can when we get back sweetie it won't take long. " Tom said and Marinette groaned "will you be here when I come back kitty? " She asked "of course, " He told her.
Two and half years later
As Marinette got older, Cat noir couldn't help but notice that she got very pretty. She had always been good looking, but now Cat Noir was having a hard time with keeping his eyes off her. This was bad because he couldn't fall in love, with the child he was guarding no good can come from it. Any Guardian who falls in love with their kid, is striped of their memories to avoid from becoming mortal. Besides Marinette didn't seem him like that, he was just her Guardian and yes she loved him, she had said so many times but she was a kid and they say that all the time. Plus she had made many friends through school, he liked that she had other kids to be around but he sometimes missed her company. "Kitty I'm back, did you miss me because I missed you! " Marinette said running into the room and throwing her arms around him. "Of course I missed you princess, how was your day? " He asked her "well Alya and I made a craft today in school, we had to make our favorite animal out of paper so I made a black cat. Alya then made a small Ladybug and she put it on the cat's nose, " she explained and then showed him her work, he was impressed it looked good. "Its wonderful Marinette I love it, " He said "we you keep it forever like you said you would keep my lucky charm? " Marinette asked, a little while after her seventh birthday she had finally finished the lucky charm bracelet, he thought it was very sweet and told her he would keep it forever. Which was true, because he didn't want to forget about Marinette even if she would forget about him. "I promise to keep to forever, " he said placing the picture in his pocket and just like that it was gone. "You did the magic again, pretty please tell me how you do it? " Marinette begged "sorry princess but I won't, " he teasingly told her and then all of sudden she looked upset. "Why the long face Marinette? " He asked and she burst into tears "Chloe makes fun of me at school and she says I'm a crazy girl who will always be alone! " she cried 'how dare that blond idiot insult his princess, Marinette was far from crazy. ' He thought to himself "your not crazy and you won't ever be alone, " "will you stay with me forever kitty? " She asked with tears running down her face, "I promise to never leave you. "
