Chapter nine: girls night

"Mom, Dad can I please go out to Alya's place tonight she planned a girls night for my birthday, " Marinette said hoping they would let her go, "of course sweetie but you have to give you our present first and you have to be back home by ten, " Sabine said handing her daughter a  box with pink wrapping paper and a red bow, Marinette took it and opened it. Inside there was a copy of her favorite book Hidden Shadows, "omg I've literally wanted this forever thank you guys so much your the best parents ever! " Marinette squealed and hugging both of her parents, "its was no problem sweetie now you should probably get ready for your party with your friends. " Tom said and Marinette smiled at him and took her present and began to walk up the stairs, "Marinette who gave you that necklace your wearing its beautiful, " Sabine commented "my boyfriend, " Marinette said without a second thought and blushed as she walked up the steps. "Marinette has a boyfriend ? " Tom asked "how sweet, " Sabine said thinking it was so sweet that her daughter had found her special someone.

"Ugh I can't tie up all of my hair! " Marinette complained "maybe you should try wearing it down, " Cat Noir suggested "but you always loved my pigtails, " Marinette said looking at him confused "I still do but I personal think your hair looks pretty without them too, " Cat Noir said playing with her hair and Marinette wondered if she should tell him the truth about last night. "Kitty... " She called "yes princess? "



he answered and she found herself unable to say anything other than "I love you, you know that right. " She told him "of course I know, you tell me all the time and I love you too. " He said taking her hand and Marinette felt her face heat up, "have a good time, and avoid any boys. " Marinette laughed at him "its a girls night kitty no boys allowed, " she gave him a peck on the check and then left the room.

The party was amazing, Alya had decided to do put on a horror movie so they could make fun of it, and ordered a bunch of food for everyone to eat. Marinette had to admit that she had a great time and smiled alot more than she had in the past week. "Okay so before I bring out the cupcakes I think we should play a game, " Alya suggested "oh I love games, which one? " Rose eagerly asked "I hope its truth or dare because that game is one of my favorites. " Alex commented "I like that game too, " Julkea said shyly "actually I was going to have all of us share a secret that we've never told anyone. " Alya said giving Marinette a wink and Marinette just wanted to melt into puddle, of course Alya would do this.
"As long as we don't end like those girls from that show Pretty little liars I'm totally cool with it, " Alex said and everyone in the room laughed. "Do you wanna go first Marinette? " Myleane asked sweetly "I was hoping I could go last, " Marinette said quietly "fine with me, I'll go first then Nino and I have been dating a lot longer than you'll think. We started dating when we we're only eleven, " Alya stated and everyone gasped "girl does that mean that you too have gotten busy? " Alex teased and Alya blushed hard "of course not, we're too young for that and please keep things pg Alex. " Alya said still looking embarrassed, Marinette laughed at the comment. "Oh I'm next, okay I really want to be in a rock band its my big dream besides meeting Prince Ali, " Rose admitted "do you play any instruments Rose? " Myleane asked "no but I'm a great singer, " Rose said and her friends. "I umm.. want to be a model... " Julkea said quietly and she was worried that her friends might think she was kidding because of her shyness. "I think you'd make a great model, " Marinette said and the other girls agreed. "Okay I guess its my turn, I secertly have a crush on Kim,  " Alex said and then she blushed "that's so romantic. " Rose commented "Maybe you should ask him out, rumor has it that he's finally gotten over Chloe and has eyes for you. " Alya said with a smirk and Alex turned a deeper shade of red, "I don't really have any interesting secrets, but I think that Ivan is really sweet and I really want to be his girlfriend. " Myleane admitted and everyone awwed knowing that he too had feelings for her, "your turn Marinette, " Alya said and Marinette suddenly felt the room start to fall on her. 'Maybe they'll  won't believe me or maybe they'll think I'm crazy, ' "I have a secret boyfriend, his name is Cat Noir and no he's not my imaginary friend he's my guardian and I've known him basically my whole life. We haven't been dating long, but I've always loved him and I will continue to do so. " Marinette admitted and closed her eyes waiting for her friends to laugh but they didn't, "girl are you saying that your dating an immortal being? " Alya asked "yes but how did you know he was? " Marinette asked confused as to how Alya knew that, "Marinette didn't your parents ever tell you the story of the Miraculous Guardians? " Alex asked and Marinette shook her head "it's an old folktale, those who commit selfless acts of heroism will be granted immortaly and other special powers in return they must guard the children from dark forces. But beware those who grow to fond of a mortal their powers will be striped and their lives will eventually end. " Julkea explained "I had no idea Cat Noir was part of a legend, no one can see him but me and he told me it was because I was the child he was supposed to guard. " Marinette said now confused with her situation, "girl you told me yesterday that someone you love is getting sick, is Cat Noir getting sick? " Alya asked cautiously "not yet but I heard talking with someone and he eventually will, I don't know how long I have left with him. " Marinette explained and now all she wanted to do was cry, it wasn't fair why did the universe have to keep her from being with her love. It was either he left and she would probably never see him again and swear to never love again for the rest of her life or he stayed and she would slowly have to watch him die. "Are you okay Marinette? " Myleane asked handing her a tissue box in case she needed it, however at that moment something clicked in Marinette's mind 'love means sacrifice, ' 'I'm spending the rest of my life without love, it will get lonely but I can happy knowing that he's alive. "Yes infact you've all just made me realize what I have to do, thank you girls so much your all the greatest friends but I'm afraid I'm going to have to leave early, I need to save my kitty. Save me some cake! " Marinette yelled as she stood up waved to her friends and then ran out of the room "um Happy birthday, " Alya said as she watched her best friend leave.
