Chapter twelve: Love means sacrifice

Cat Noir completely destroyed the celling with his Cataclysm, it had left alot of damage but he didn't care all he cared about was saving Marinette. He jumped through the hole he had created, and found that the whole room was dark. "Marinette where are you?! " He asked desperate to locate her, a single light turned on and he saw Marinette gagged and binded to the wall, "Marinette oh my god I thought I'd never see you again, it's going to be fine I'm gonna get you out of here. " He told her as ran towards her, Marinette tried to warn him about Hawkmoth but her voice was so muffled that he didn't understand what she was saying. Suddenly in all the darkness Hawkmoth made his move and stabbed Cat Noir in the back with his saber, he fell to the floor groaning in pain and Marinette called out to him hoping that he would be able to recover. "Not to worry dear my secret will die with him, " Hawkmoth said as he placed his saber back into his staff and walked over the injured Guardian. "Hawkmoth, " he grumbled as he held his side trying to stop the bleeding "you always were foolish Cat Noir, but I have to thank you if you hadn't chosen to stay because of your love then I wouldn't be able to kill you and take your strength. " Hawkmoth said now walking over to Marinette and pulling her closer to him, even in her restraints she screamed for Cat Noir and tried to fight her way away from him so she could help Cat Noir. "Now as for you my dear, you're going to be my first victim, I'm going to use my powers to make you my queen. " Hawkmoth declared but Marinette continued to resist "darling really, stop fighting me! " Hawkmoth yelled and by accident he pulled a bit too hard and Marinette's gag came off "No I won't, for the rest of my life I will fight and I will never stop trying to get away for you! " Marinette declared looking Hawkmoth directly in the eyes "but if you let me help him and let him go, I will go with you, " Marinette said in a soft yet honest voice, she knew where this would lead her but she didn't care. She needed to save Cat Noir because more people needed him then she did, "no Marinette.. don't, "Cat Noir said weakly protesting, he couldn't let Hawkmoth take her. "Just let me help him and than you and I will be together just like you want, you can use me however you want and I'll never try and escape just let me help him. " Marinette declared and Hawkmoth looked into her eyes and saw that she was being completely honest. So he agreed but not before he chained up Cat Noir who was now coughing harshly and still in intense pain. "In case you get any ideas about trying to save her, " Hawkmoth said with a sneer and walking away to let Marinette rush over to him. "Cat Noir! " She called out as she leaned down next to him, "I'm gonna help you, " she said attempting to but a cloth on him to stop the bleeding, but he wouldn't let her "no.. Marinette... I can't let you do this.. I.. have to keep you safe... from him.. " he said coughing in between his words. He was her Guardian he had to save no matter what that meant for him, "and I can't let you die, you need to live kitty the world needs you. " Marinette told him and he looked sadly up at her "but if.. you do this.. you.. will die.. and I can't.. live without you.. that's why.. I..." Marinette shushed him she knew what he was going to say "I know but I'm going to be alright, " She softly said to him "princess... wait.. " he begged, she came closer thinking that maybe he wanted a goodbye kiss but before she could even blink, he picked up his staff threw it at Hawkmoth and the impact caused his broche to shatter.
