Chapter 17

I made my way to Lucas house, feeling my face become numb as I had been walking in the cold.

I went up to the front door and knocked.

I waited for an answer, tapping my feet on the concrete.

The door opened a few seconds later, and Kayla appeared.

"Hey Maya." She said, letting me inside.

I stepped in, the warmth hitting me immediately.

"I haven't seen you in awhile." She said.

I nodded. It feels like centuries since I last saw Lucas, but it was just three days ago.

"Is Lucas here?" I asked, changing the subject.

"Upstairs."

I started to walk up the stairs, wondering if his parents or Kayla knew that Lucas went to a bar.

And that he ditched school. Maybe he just faked sick?

I made my way up to Lucas's bedroom and saw the door closed.

I sighed. I reallyyyyyy didn't wanna do this.

I opened the door and saw Lucas on his bed, just staring into space.

I invited myself in and sat next to Lucas on his bed.

We both just sat there in silence for a couple minutes until I spoke. "Why didn't you tell me?"

He didn't say anything. He didn't even look at me.

"Lucas why aren't you talking to me?" I asked, slightly annoyed.

"I'm sorry." He said quietly.

I crossed my arms. "Well you should be."

More silence. That's when Lucas looked up at me. "Maya I need to tell you something."

I sat up in the bed and looked back at him. "Anything. Please tell me."

He looked back down and played with his fingers.

He took a deep breath.

"I had sex with missy."
