I looked at the mirror judging my face, today was a subtle red lipstick kind of day. I looked around my vanity to find the perfect shade. The best part of the morning is the beautiful light of the sun, shining through my window. Jesse was still in the shower as I finished my makeup. I got dressed quickly and just as I put on my shoes, Jesse walked out the shower- his towel hanging low on his hips. His back was facing me and I took a minute just watching the water drip down his back while his muscles flexed. I walked over to him.

"You know if you had walked out about five minutes sooner, we'd be having sex now." I whispered in his ear.

"We still can." He said as he turned around.

"Do you know how late I would be? I am not risking that. Plus my face has been beat, my hair twisted out. I cannot sweat either of those out," My hands moved up and down his arms. "But later is a different story."

"Damn, and you wearing those pants I like. You sure you want to wait for later?" I felt his hands cup my ass. I kissed him slowly,  then I pulled away from him and walked to the door.

"I'd rather make you wait for it."

"So have you experienced any new symptoms since starting the new regimen?"

My patient looked at me for a second and then replied "I can't even tell anymore, I don't know what's new, what's old, but I still have the shits if that's what you're asking."

"Diarrhea?"

He shook his head and scoffed, "Doctors are so damn polite. Yeah I got the shits. I still have the rash but it's better."

"Anything else Mr. Peters?"

"Not that I know of."

"Well then Mr. Peters, I'll check on your test results and see if they got back, and then if everything looks good you'll be on your way." I said as I gathered his chart and papers.

"Thanks darlin, you've been so nice."

I smiled. "You're Welcome, Mr. Peters, I just want you to feel better."

"Well I appreciate it."

"I'll be back. "  I squeezed hand sanitizer on my hands before walking out the room. He was one of the funniest and kindest patients I've ever had, unfortunately he had AIDS, and we were trying to find a drug regimen that worked for him. He was allergic to one of his drugs on his previous regimen. I started typing everything I had just wrote down in the computer and checked on his lab results. They still weren't in yet. I sighed, but it wasn't unusual for the lab to be behind. I went to my next patient's chart, Mrs. Campbell. She was a nice lady but her husband made life difficult, he second guessed everything we did. I was hoping she didn't bring him today. I took her chart and walked to her room.

"Mrs. Campbell, how are you doing today?"

"How long does it take to see someone around here? Seems like we've been waiting all damn day!"

"Hello Mr. Campbell, happy to see you too."

"Oh don't mind him dear, he's mad he lost all that money on that game. Barry calm down." Mrs. Campbell said. They were in their mid fifties and I could not understand how she put up with all his complaining for the past 20 years. She came in because she had lupus and hers was tricky to treat.
After talking with her a bit, I ordered a few test, and was back to the nurse's desk to type my notes. I look at my watch, only a few minutes until lunch.

"Dr. Michaels! Have you thought more about my research proposal? I could really use someone like you on my team."

"Yes I have, and I would really love to join! I've always has an interest in reprogramming immune cells to help heal the body. Hopefully it revolutionize cancer treatment, vaccines, autoimmune disorders, and-"

"Whoa there, we've got quite a way to go before we get there. But I love the enthusiasm, I'll be seeing you after clinic?"

"Once I finish with Dr. Brown, I'll come over. "

"You really won't need much but I'll give you a tour of the lab, a few details so that you can make the right choice before we make it official, okay? See you then."

"Thanks so much, Dr. Cox. I'll see you."
I was at the point in my fellowship that I really needed to decide what to focus my research on. I stopped by one of Dr. Cox's presentations and I couldn't wait to join his research team. Luckily he wanted me on his team. We were going to try to reprogram immune cells to stop autoimmune responses. I looked at the clock again as my stomach growled, it was definitely time for lunch.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
"Hey Kiara, what's up?" I said talking on speaker phone as I pulled out of the hospital parking lot.

"What's up? I haven't talked to you in years!"

"You're right, it's time to fuck some shit up!"

"Um, not quite what I was thinking but maybe Saturday, have a Girl's night?"

"Oooh that sounds good, who else is coming?

"It's up to you. I don't care, I just need to get out the house! I need a break from these children!"

"Awww, how's my kids?"

"Driving me up a damn wall, girl!"

I laughed, "I'm on my way home but I'll call you later."

"What's so important?"

"I'm trying to get Jesse to impregnate me!"

"Wait what?"

"Talk to you during our girls night!" I said as I hung up.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I rested my head on Jesse's chest as we both caught our breath. Our sweaty, naked bodies intermingled together, both too tired to move.

"Worth the wait?" I asked him while tracing a pattern into his skin with my finger.

"Hell yeah. Baby you were- amazing." He kissed the top of my head. I smiled and looked up at him.

"Hey babe?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you want a girl or a boy?"

Jesse chuckled, his face turning into smile.

"You are so random. But I'd have to say a girl. A beautiful baby girl that looks just like you."

"Aww, why? It's funny, most guys want a son."

"Girls are sweet, and we'll have to go to the hospital a lot less. What about you?"

"That's true, boys are reckless. Girl, but she looks like you. Since we're both in agreement, tell your sperm."

"What?"

"Your sperm decides the gender, so tell your sperm to produce girls for the time being."

"Girl, you trippin."

"You say that now but I better get a daughter." Jesse rolled his eyes and laughed.

"I'm serious!" I said as he laughed louder. Suddenly Jesse's phone rang.

"Let it ring. I don't want to get up." I whined. Jesse ignored me and reached for his phone.

"It's my mom."

"Definitely don't answer."

Jesse sighed, "Jaleia! It could be important. Hey Mom. Oh. Oh my God, I'm coming, well be right there. I'll let Shaun and Ciara know, just take care of Diana. Okay, I'll be there soon." He hung up the phone and started looking around.

"Jaleia ,we gotta get dressed and go to the hospital."
