I shifted my weight against Jesse. We were cuddled up watching Think Like a Man in our living room. It was a quiet night for once, Diana was in her room hopefully studying, we had already eaten dinner, it was a perfect tuesday movie night. The past few days had been really good, after our little "stress reliever" a few days ago we were both in really good moods. My phone started to ring, I reached over to the table to look at it. My mom's face flashed across the screen.

"Can you pause it?" I asked Jesse. As he paused it I answered.

"Hey mama." I said.

"Baby girl, I just wanted to know if you wanted us to bring anything when we come up for Thanksgiving?"

"You're coming up for Thanksgiving this year?" I said. Last year we spent Thanksgiving with my family, Jesse and I took turns each year. One year with his family, the next with mine. It saves us a lot of arguing with each other and our families to do it that way. Usually the Thanksgivings we speand with my family coincide with the thanksgivings I have off from work. If we are spending it with Jess' family I usually work and join them after. We have never actually hosted before because our house is so small, most of our families wouldn't even fit, but apparently we must've lost our damn minds after eating all that turkey last year and agreed to host.

"Of course we are! Don't tell me you forgot you're supposed to be hosting this year?"

"Ummm, I didn't forget, it just slipped my mind honestly. Is everyone coming up and staying with us?"

"That was the plan, unless you can't?"

"No. no, no, it's cool. Everything will be fine. We'll find a way."

"I'm glad I called then, baby girl, I'll talk to you later, send Jesse my love."

"I will mama, love you."

"Love you, bye." I sat up and faced Jesse. I sighed, this was going to be a crazy Thanksgiving that we didn't know we were going to do.

"So babe, my mom just asked me if we wanted her to bring anything when she comes up for Thanksgiving. Apparently we are hosting Thanksgiving this year, did you know that?"

"What?" he said, his head whipping around.

"Last Thanksgiving did we agree to host? I don't even remember that far back."

"I think so because when we were talking about it, no one wanted to travel and we said something about always traveling, and then we did say we would love to not travel. Damn, I think we did. We were counting on everyone forgetting."

"Damn, it's the turkey, they wait until you're full and then they go into attack mode to find the next victim."

"Are they all staying with us?"

"Yeah, we are really going to figure out the spacing because if everyone is coming? Lord, that's a lot of people for a house with two bedrooms. There Raquel and her boo, Keisha and her kids and boo, mom and her boo, if my dad is coming, then it's him and his boo. That's a lot."

"It's too late to back out now." He said.

"Ugh, we'll figure it out later. It's cuddle time." I said, molding my body into Jesse's.

"I love how you solve all your problems with cuddles." he said grinning at me, his arm around my waist tightening.

"Never failed me once." I said. We were at peace for about twenty more minutes before we heard a knock on the door. We looked at each other and then at the door, neither of us wanted to get up. Suddenly we heard a key in the door and watched it open, the stupid thing is we still hadn't moved. If that was a murderer I guess we would've died right there on the couch.
