don't cover up the journal entry
don't rip out the pages you think you'll never want to see again
don't burn the photo from your roughest day
Or bury the book that made you feel your feelings under a pile
don't hidewe should look at the darkest pages when the sun gets through
we might miss the shady chapters when the resolution hits with a golden glaring light
and we may not
But you won't remember it alonedon't hide
don't trash the project you spilled your drink or your tears on
you'll want to see what got you through when that pain's gone
Maybe we painted it white and started over but it's in there
We can feel it
We can taste itdon't hide
