C H A P T E R 4

I came to camp with my own alarm. It never shook me to wake up. It sounded way different from the sound that was waking me up. It never had the guts to wake me up around seven.

"Rise up roomies. Let's do some yoga," the human alarm whispered. It was Kira for crying out loud. Out of all people, I never expected her.

"Now?" Anna whined, making herself comfortable in her bed probably minding her own sleepy business.

"Sleepyhead, wake up." I spotted Kira, hitting Anna with a pillow. Annalisa woke up immediately, sat on her bed and gazed at Kira with a devilish eye. Things were about to get really.

"Kira, baby, darling, don't dare. Am more violent when woken up from my beauty sleep, OK! So please leave me alone," Anna finished, returning back to sleep in seconds. The queen had spoken.

"At least I have you and Olive," Kira sighed.

"You look good girl."

I was the first to compliment myself in the morning. It was a habitual thing. Looking at my own reflection, it was a mixed girl who had many stereotypes in life. The truth was that they all wouldn't bring me down. Whether they told me to choose if I was black, white or brown, I didn't care. I belonged to the human race.

I walked out of the bathroom with a bright smile planted on my face, laid on my bed for the last time and checked if I had left anything in place.

"Wait, are you wearing that?"

"Yes and as you can see, am wearing our cabin shirt which looks perfect on me; joggers, no offence, I am looking goooood and -"

"I know. Can you please were shorts because its 80°F out there," Kira said. "Wow, are those degree numbers coming out of my mouth? Genius me!"

I chuckled.

"Am going for a jog with my brother."

"Your brother! Can I come with you?" Kira had already rolled off her bed to get some shoes under her raised bed. She really was putting a lot of effort in this.

"Ooh sorry. It's a twin thing, so you can't come. Tsk tsk." I faked every emotion in me. Instead of being a normal practice, Kira would take over them in a second. I never underestimated her powers.

"It's okay kira. Sooner or later she will introduce us to him." Anna also played along. I already liked this kid.

"I will." Never be the one introducing them.

"Anyways, you look nice," Kira said.

"Thanks and see you in two hours."

"How did you find us here," asked Zach.

"Well someone added me to your group chat. So I already checked the location you where before they confiscated my phone," I explained to him. "Thanks Jimmy," I added.

"You're welcome," Jimmy popped out, giving me a high five.

My brother rolled his eyes. I always wanted to laugh when he did it. He only did that when his friends gave me all their attention. It was pretty cool, right? Yeah, I liked it like that.

"So how will I help you?" I asked Theo.

"You never helped us little Parker," Parker replied. I really had to deal with him.

"How? Aren't you happy am here?"

"If you had your friend," he stopped, trying to remember her name. How did he know? "Kim, Kisha, Kira. Yes, it's Kira!"
