Enjoy!
I don't know why you called me but it seems so important," my mom said while surveying my room. It was kind of her thing, "I told you to clean that on the shelf Derek." She said pointing out to a dirty soccer ball.
"I will but let's come to the point why I called you," I said while taking the ball and throwing it in my laundry basket. It was a good shot.
"I know about that," she said. I opened a door and signed my mom to come in first. "That girl is making you a gentleman as always." I hold back on rolling my eyes at her.
"I am always a gentleman," I said while closing the door. I was in like my office or training place for me. It was just like a man cave.
My mom didn't wait for a second and she had already sat on her favourite black relaxing chair in the room. It was also my favourite. "I need to move this chair in my room," she said.
"No," I said.
"I will order one tomorrow," my mom said. God, she always have a solution to such things. I nodded.
"OK. So mom?" I paused so that she can look at me, "You know about what happened three or four months ago."
"When you came home with a bandage on your wrist and a band-aid on your cheek? You decided on quitting the -"
"Yes, that mom. You don't have to say it like that; I was planning on it," I cut her. She really had a good memory about mostly our faults but she always forgets some important stuff.
"OK carry on, I need to get my beauty sleep," she said.
"I am telling you this because I trust you. Don't make a moment out of this because you already know I trust you," I said. At first I told myself I would do this but now my heart was increasing its heart beats.
"I am always here to support you sweetie," she cooed.
"So that accident, you know a woman who was also involved right?"I asked her. She nodded. "Yeah, so that woman her daughter is Parker. Thea Parker."
"No way," my mom covered her mouth quickly. She was also shocked like me the first time when Parker told me. With my research at camp, it was really them.
"Yes way,"I said. "You know those criminals hit her and they ran away. At least the agency was able to detain them."
"Do they know that Thea is your girlfriend? Does she know anything about this?" My mom asked.
"She is not my girlfriend. Maybe soon after this mess is sorted out," I paused thinking if I had answered her clearly. "And she just knows that her mother was innocently involved in a car accident in DC."
A wave of silence passed by as if a ghost had just passed.
For sure, she is suspicious with my actions and words sometimes. She likes agent stuff and little did she know her friend is a teen agent.
"So what am I gonna do mom?" I asked her because a wrong move could led me losing everything. From Parker to the agency.
"Follow your brain," mom said. She seemed lost too.
"Follow my brain really mom? That's the only thing you can come up with?" I tried to remain come. So much for asking my mom.
"Look Derek, Diego knew that you would be able to manage working at the agency and I know you love it there," I nodded. "Don't tell her anything about you being an agent, find a way to talk to the Sir White about this and please tell her you love her."
"Mom!"
"C'mon sweetie, I didn't raise a son who can be make this slow move to a girl," she said and I was about to speak when she continued, "you need to ask her out. She is dying to know."
