Enjoy!
"
Finally, we were done watching the movie. Dear Maurice came that time to tell us we have an hour to eat dinner. Anna even joked that Maurice was acting so artificial about calling us nicely for dinner. He just waved it off and told her no desert for her. You would have seen the scene.D-man had already left like half an hour ago. I never minded why so I had continued watching the movie.
"Thanks for watching it with me. We were like twins because we are the only ones who never watched it," Anna said.
"Anytime. I really enjoyed though I have watched it almost hundred times," I pointed it out. She laughed.
"Let's go to the living room," Anna said.
"Sure." I had no where to go Anna.
I admired the room for the last time maybe. We left the room and went out.
"So this here is the family room I guess. I don't know, if you need to concentrate or something but I like this area because it has a perfect view." Anna showed me where the was like a couch facing with the drawers. It was really beautiful. Glad they were not in the center of Manhattan. There were some trophies there.
"It is really a nice view," I said. Every spot had a nice view but this one was the realest.
We were now in the living room were there was some current news. Why wouldn't have we watched the movie in here? Maybe not to get disturbed by the view.
I sat on the grey couch while Anna was busy flipping channels. Then, I heard a sound of a metal dish making contact with the floor. Dear Maurice really sounded like he was frustrated.
"Let's go help him," I said while taking my lazy body of the couch.
"OK. I am following you. There is even nothing interesting," she said.
She led the way to the kitchen. I would like to have one word with the designer of this penthouse apartment. Clever. He/she had made a huge shelve were there some pictures, plants, small cameras and other stuff that I couldn't recognize.
It was a semi open concept house which gave some privacy for the cooking area. It was a beautiful L- shaped kitchen with an island. The little details that it had made it more welcoming than ever. The silverware with the granite counters and the grey cabinets made everything spacious.
Near the glass doors was a dinning table. It was rectangular shaped with six seats. Everything in here just gave a good vibe.
"Mmmmh dear Maurice, do you need help?" I was so shy. I was even playing with my fingers.
"I will manage," he said while walking back and forth picking out some ingredients.
"Anna, where do you keep the spare aprons?" I asked. I really wanted to help the guy.
Anna went to one of the cabinets and took two white folded aprons. She gave me one and also she got one.
"So where should we start? We would have just bought a lasagna downtown like always besides it's a Friday," she said with a smile.
"A Friday where you have brought your friend," he said while adding some spies in ad dish he is cooking.
"I get your point Maurice. So what should we do?"
He told us what to do. Anna had to set up the table; I had to help in cleaning the kitchen and dear Maurice was serving the food. We were talking while working. In few minutes, we were done.
Honestly, I enjoyed working with them. It reminded of my mom, Theo and I. Mom did the cooking, I did the cleaning and Theo was the one who was serving. On lazy days, mom would just order something that we can eat. My dad would be the one who was just sitting while cracking out some jokes.
