Call it a Talent

C H A P T E R 21

"This," Anna started.

"Is," D-man continued.

"Life," I finished the sentence.

We were eating, laughing, joking around, singing awfully for me and I should not lie, I was having fun. After we had stopped at the gas station, we had stayed their almost half an hour. We just wanted to relax before we hit the road for four hours.

"Give me the burger Anna?" D-man said.

"I'll eat it after this chicken wing," Anna said

"You said that before eating your fourth chicken wing," D-man was complaining which was kind of funny because we bought a lot of food to feed a community.

"You can have mine," I told him.

"Really?"

"Yah. I will eat Pizza." I said while eating Doritos. Oh goodness who made these things.

"Thanks," he said. I gave me the burger. Honestly, I don't know why I donated mine. I wanted to see him happy. If he is happy am also happy. That's what friends are for, right?

"We are going to be home soon. I feel it," Anna said.

Little did she know.

Oh God I was panicking. Don't panic. You were so hyped up coming here.

"You have to be yourself Parker," D-man said. "There's nothing to panic about."

I wish. I just chuckled.

"My forks are so cool with everything but she can be strict with school and some stuff," He assured me.

"OK."

"Where's Anna?"

"Sleeping in that pile of food,"I looked at the back and boy her hair covered her face. She looked as if she had passed because she was full.

"That's my sister."

We laughed and continued talking whatever popped up in our heads. I was loving every moment. Wait wait wait loving? No. I was enjoying. Sometimes friends are what we need in life. D-man is kinda a special friend. I like him.

As a friend.

Why did it felt I was trying to convince myself. I am not naive. I am now seventeen.

New York city.

I always told my parents that one day we should live here. We have never stayed in this state but visited it a bunch of times. I know some places but not all of them.  My D-man could show me some places around here because right, we are in New York.

It was around four in the afternoon and the sun was brazing orange. It was just a perfect scene.

"Oh my goodness, I missed this place so bad," she screamed again.

"Should we go straight home, mom's officer or choose," D-man said.

"When are you going to meet sirrrrrrr you know what I want to go home," Anna changed her mind when D-man look at her. Suspicious.

"Do you agree?" He asked me. I was like 'you are the ones who know this place'.

"Yes." A simple answer was just needed.

"OK."

He closed the windows and I was OK so how am I gonna see outside with these tinted windows. At least I can see in the front. Honestly I never followed the direction. The next thing I realised we were heading to Manhattan.
