Enjoy!

I like you. I really had the guts to say that. Dad would love this. Mom would support me for this gained confidence and well, my brother would kill me for this plus my mom. Maybe for this moment, I needed to clear these thoughts.

I wanted to tell him that I love him but that would be fast or too soon. I would have said any of the words or I would have answered the same thing. Oh Lord, I felt like throwing myself in the water. I regretted not joining Kelvin for a swim.

After so many words messing up my brain, I looked at him. It was now or never. His brown eyes connected with also my brown eyes which were very dark. I noticed sadness flashing. I ignored that feeling and still focused. Girls would kill to have his cute thick black eyelashes. And boy was he blushing?

"Wow, I I yeah, you're really a cool friend. Love you"

Did I really hear him that he loves me and he completed it with good friend? My heart sank into my guts. I could taste the bitter rejection.

"Yeah, I am cool like that,"I smiled, lifting the left corner of my smile. It was fake. Honestly, I didn't know what to fell anymore. I hope my voice was not that disappointing. This was where my whole family would kill him for ruining a moment.

I laid flat on my chair facing the heaven. Why? I shut my eyes to 'rest' them but it was for another purpose. I wanted to cry. The heat was making my attempt less helpful.

I never knew getting rejected felt this bad. I wanted to bury my safe in this fine sand. My chair couldn't scare me if it sank itself inside. I would be more prepared. Maybe he never felt the same.

He was just lying. He also feels the same.

My inner thoughts whispered all the reasons he had to say that. I couldn't wait to go lay on the bed.

"Sup Thea!" I opened my eyes when I heard Kelvin. He was waving at me as if I was his mom. I couldn't ignore him. He then hit D-man on the side of his head with his beach ball. He was a prepared guy. I laughed when D-man groaned to the pain.

"Not funny Parker," he mumbled while rubbing the part with his palm. I just continued to laugh. That's how your words hurt. Maybe the pain woulf also go away.

"Sorry Man, we just finished playing. Where should we go next?" Kelvin dried himself up quickly.

"Home," D-man and I said together. We look at each other and I quickly looked away and I saw Kelvin wearing his gray shirt.

"You're right. We should go eat first in some good restaurant here and head home," Kelvin said, grabbing my hand and D-man's hand bringing us up.

"Dude!"

"We are not animals!"

"Sorry, but you guys are some how vibe killers," he muttered. "Let's go and I bought you cool sunglasses."

He gave us both the sunglasses and he wore his shades. I thanked him and D-man just nodded at him.

"This needs a selfie to send it to Anna," Kelvin said while taking his phone from D-man. We took a lot of them and at least I managed to smile and some funny faces.

"Thanks Kelvin," I repeated. Honestly, it was fun. After lunch, Kelvin still ignored our protest and continued showing me sites. All this way, I made sure I had a cool smile while the inside of me, I was burning. For sure, Kelvin noticed the awkwardness. He just ignored it.

When we were in the city, a traffic jam found us there. It delayed us from arriving home early. That's why we arrived around 3.

"Anytime. Right Derek?" Kelvin looked at his friend who seemed busy on his phone. We entered the elevator and Kelvin pressed the button to the top floors.

"Yeah," he nodded. The silence filled the elevator and how I wish I could crawl were there was noise. Which seemed like forever, the doors slide open. Thank you. I was welcomed by the sound of radioactive song. It was on loud.

"Hi Thea," Carissa shouted from the living room still laying on the coach. She can really be a couch potato. I then heard a dog barking? They never had a dog.

"Legend," Kelvin called, the dog, a big golden retriever appeared. It was so cute. There was a pink bow on her head. It came towards Kelvin and kelvin had kneed and hugged his dog. "You missed me boy. "Carrie, how many times have I told you it's a boy?"

"When it is here, it's a girl," she clearly was loud to surpass the kpop songs. Any person like me would think it is a girl. "Can it please stay here today?"

"Sure but don't give her the horrors of girl species," Kelvin was still focusing on the dog who was now D-man had carried it. D-man was smiling and patting at it. The site was just too good to be true. The dog's tongue licked his cheek.

"Yeah Kelvin, you can take Legend now," he said while putting the Legend. Why that dog name though?

"He already likes you. So Thea, this is Legend and Legend, this is Thea. She is part of the family okay?" Kelvin looked at his dog which was wagging it's tail. It barked. "Good boy."

"We will be in our room," Derek told Carissa.

"Don't care, just know I am ordering pizza or sushi for dinner."

D-man looked at me if I agree. I just nodded. "Yeah, we are fine with that."

"Thea, please bring Legend with you," Carissa begged me. She really likes the dog. I brought the dog to her and the boys had already upstairs. I also wanted to go to my room but that would be weird. I sat on one of the armchairs. The dog sat together with Carissa.

"So how was the date?" She asked while lowering the volume a little. How should I answer that now. Doesn't she feel anything wrong here.

"It was fine," I pulled a smile.

"Yeah, it wasn't. What happened?" She turned her attention to me. Am I really desperate to tell her what happened? I need help.

"I just know that he doesn't have those feelings you asked," I told her. My tear ducts were about to burst. Big girls don't cry.

"Did he tell you that?" She asked her eyes studying me. I nodded. "Unbelievable. Am gonna talk to that robot," she exploded while standing up.

"No."

"What? You look broken Thea, mentally of course. How did it go?" This will be one of the most embarrassing things to explain. I narrated from the part in the car till we went to the Italian restaurant. "Oh!"

"I know right," I cried out. I didn't want her to see me crying though a tear had find a way to escape.

"Should I talk to him or -"

"It's fine. He will come to his sense if he is the real man, he claims," I said.

"OK... So help me dress up this cutie here," she stroked the dogs back. Legend jumped on her and started licking her face. "Not the mouth, it's already taken. My boyfriend will be mad that I am cheating on you Legend," she said, standing up and running away from the dog. It still followed her. I couldn't contain the laugh.
