- "love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, and therefore is winged Cupid painted blind"
Her brother had been furious when she got home, she smelled like him he accused like what does that even mean? He had been absurd demanding that she keeps away from him, she was twenty two for god's sake, how dare he tell her what to do?
That same night after a long fight with Kerian she locked herself in her room and had been so upset had refused to come out. She was watching a movie when her phone rang to an unknown number, and was delighted when she realised it was James that had called her.
After the kiss they had she was so embarrassed she said a quick bye and started to make her way home. He had went after her and grabbed her wrist, she wouldn't even turn to look at him. He had thought that he ruined everything with the kiss, how can you refuse something that felt so right he kept asking himself.
'I'm sorry' he said to her still holding her wrist, she turned around to look at him. He wasn't sorry for the kiss, never for the kiss, maybe for making her feel this way.
She was looking deeply into his eyes 'what are you sorry for? I kissed you back didn't I?' she concluded for him and all his worries seemed to leave him instantly. She didn't regret it.
There was a look she was giving him now like longing, she reminded him 'I need to head back', 'I know' he whispered but couldn't for the life of him drop her wrist.
Despite him he did and as she was leaving a thought popped in his mind 'tell me your phone number' he called after her when she was a good three meters away.
She was caught off guard, then smiled to herself and started calling out numbers hoping that he was writing them down.
'Hey' she breathed out and he sighed because god he already missed her, just the sound of her voice could make him forget about the argument he had with his mother earlier.
'What are you doing?' he had asked her wondering if she was at all thinking about him, she was. 'Not much just watching this movie' she dragged out 'what about you?'.
'I was in a meeting actually' his deep voice made her shiver in pleasure no matter the warm room, 'a meeting? Wow that sounds serious'.
He gave out a laugh 'not at all, it's very normal throughout my day' he thought again about the argument. She found herself smiling and biting her lip 'what else do you do throughout your day?'.
'You mean except going on rides with this beautiful girl I met?' her breath got caught up, 'yeah except that of course' was her cheeky response.
He thought for a minute and replied very carefully 'I took over the family business and that entails a lot of meetings to make sure everything is running smoothly, I also workout daily meet up with friends and that's about it' maybe even do these together sometimes he though to himself. 'Sounds like a busy man' Faith had voiced out loud while looking outside her window now. She realised that she got over the paranoid feeling of being watched, she hadn't thought about that since that first day.
'Sometimes a very lonely man' he said quietly, 'what about you?'. She had caught that, something inside her pulled. Me too, she wanted to say but didn't.
'Well, for starters you wouldn't see me work out even if I was getting paid for it!' a laugh had escaped him at that and she continued. 'I draw, a lot and I read, listen to music... yeah pretty much that's all I do since I graduated, oh and hangout with friends'.
'Interesting, what did you study then?' he wondered, 'I studied fine arts and I am thinking of what to do with the degree now' she answered. His Faith was an artist he voiced 'so an artist then'.
'Yes an artist, very different from your business I am assuming path', 'business management actually' he confirmed. 'We lead completely different lifestyles' she stated seriously, putting him in thoughts on the life he had and how Faith if she wanted to could fit right in, he would make sure she did.
Faith had wondered as well about how incompatible they truly where, she was a firm believer that these kind of things like love should never be forced, they should just flow.
Only their breathing could be heard from the line as they were both respectfully lost in their own thoughts. Faith had decided to share something else that only her best friend knew about her 'also' she started and he was all ears waiting 'I write, sometimes'.
'Like a novel kind of writing?' he asked, it sparked his interest the kind of talents the girl he was mated to had 'hmm not professionally or anything, just in my free time'.
'About what?' and on that she swallowed her tongue I mean what could she possibly say, oh yeah I write about worlds that don't exist and places I have never been in, dream about lives that never where giving them a voice in this world of ours, yep no.
'I... I' she stopped, 'you...?' he asked again with a smile on his face her stuttering she was so cute, he had embarrassed her he recognised.
'Don't worry you don't have to tell me now, maybe one day you can read it to me' he offered hopefully and she agreed timidly, maybe one day when she is more confident about it.
He thought for a moment 'there is this museum it is a bit far, still in Rhododendron, maybe you would like to go' she hadn't expected it, like a date she wondered inside her mind 'yeah that would be great, maybe we could go tomorrow'.
Shit, she thought, of course he wouldn't be available tomorrow the guy told her he had meetings all day and she had told him to go tomorrow, what an idiot!
'Sure, we could go tomorrow it's a date then' he had answered he previous unspoken question.
'It's a date' she whispered back.
