"Well I guess becoming a dad really does shit to you. Especially a single dad." He implied.

"Well don't consider yourself single anymore." I kissed his cheek making him blush.

"I want to kiss you, but I don't know of it'll be appropriate." He whispered.

I began to kiss his lips and he kissed me back. Our tongues exploring each other's mouths. We slowly pulled back him biting my lip. We both smiled.

I went back to sitting beside him and leaning resting my head on his shoulder. He put his arm around my waist pulling me closer.

"So what kind of rumors are there of why I left, if there are any? You're the only person from school who I've talked to within the past two years." He asked.

"You don't want to hear a lot of them. Trust me." I warned.

"Well that makes me want to know even more. Just say some. I'll be fine." He insisted.

"Some people say that you died, and every person has different reasons how. Some say you're in jail/prison. But your parents say you ran away." I answered.

"Well my parents are technically right." He started. "When Janie was born we moved to New York to get away from here. But only 4 months ago I realized that that's the last place I want to raise a kid. So I kinda ran away."

"I knew I could hear a New Yorker accent." I gasped. That made us both laugh a little.

"Anyway, enough about me. I want to know about you. How we have you been?" He asked.

"Eh. Pretty much the same. Just trying to get through school. And not get into trouble." I shrugged. "I told my mom that I was going on a date with you and she wasn't really 'impressed' due to what she heard about you. I explained to her that you changed. But I don't think she believes me. And sat that my dad won't like it."

"Well I don't blame them. I wouldn't believe I've changed either. And wouldn't in a billion years want my daughter to go on a date with me." He assured in a humorous tone. "I hope to meet them sometime and show them that I've changed."

"You will." I assured. "And you've changed a lot, a lot. You used to have long hair. Would cuss in between every word. You speak softer and much more politely." We both smiled. "I understand if not, but tomorrow can I meet Janie? Maybe we can go to the zoo." I implied.

"Of course." His smile grew. "Except as a warning, she's really shy when it comes to meeting new people. So it's nothing that you've done. She's like that for everyone."

"It's okay. I understand."

He eventually had to drive me home. But I didn't want this night to end. Neither of us did. He walked me to the doorstep.

"I had an amazing time tonight." He whispered.

"Me too. I really don't want you to leave." I responded.

"Me neither. But I'll pick you back up tomorrow afternoon at one. Okay?" He assuredly.

I nodded my head. He gave me a kiss on the forehead and walked back to his car. He made sure I got inside before I left. My parents were standing right there.

"Who was that? That wasn't Jake." My dad asked obviously confused.

"It is. I said that he changed. And you guys didn't believe me." I answered.

"How so?" My mom sneered.

I debated if I wanted to tell them. But I then realized that it's not a secret. They're gonna learn sometime.
