Janie then pointed at the bug house. We started walking towards there.

"I don't do bugs. I don't care if there's behind glass. I don't do bugs." Jake said.

"I can take Janie in there." I insisted.

I held out my hand. Janie thought for a second and finally grabbed my held. Letting go of Jake's.

"I'll be over there when you guys come out." He pointed at the smokers area.

I guess you can't give up everything. I nodded my head yes and we walked into the bug house.

"What's your favorite thing here?" I asked.

"Spiders." She finally talked. Her voice was sweet.

"Do you want to maybe hold one?" I implied.

She nodded her head yes excitedly. We walked over to the spiders.

"Hey Cody, who's this?" Kelly greeted.

"This is Janie; My boyfriend's daughter. I can't explain right now. My boyfriend can't do bugs, so he's outside." I started. "But she's kinda shy and so I'm using animals as a therapy for her. The chameleon worked a lot. And I was wondering if she could hold the Tarantula."

She got the Tarantula out and set her in Janie's hands. Janie smiled as it started to crawl a little up her arm. I took a picture and sent it to Jake. Kelly soon put her back.

"Thank you." Janie thanked.

"You're welcome. I hope to see you again." Kelly responded.

We soon got through the bug house and walked outside. The moment we walked out Jake ran to Janie and crouched down.

"Holy shit! Are you okay!? Did the spider hurt you!?" He panicked.

"I'm okay daddy." She giggled. He looked at me laughing at how freaked out he was.

"Why the fuck was a spider crawling up her arm!? They bite! You said nothing dangerous!"

"Tarantulas rarely bite. Besides, all I'd it's venom is gone." I assured. He stood back up and calmed himself down. "Wow. Jake Gander. Terrified of bugs and arachnids." I implied. He rolled his eyes.

The day went by fast. Too fast in fact. And it was soon time to go. We got in the car. Janie fell asleep almost immediately.

"Day was over the top amazing. I haven't had that much fun in a long time except for the bugs." He said. "And I've never seen Janie that in public places. But you somehow broke her shell. Thanks."

"I honestly haven't had this much fun at the zoo, and I'm here all the time. All the zoo keepers she met loved her. And I'm allowed to bring someone with me whenever I volunteer. I'll ask the boss if I can bring Janie sometimes." Jake looked at Janie.

"I'll think about it. She'll probably love to. But I don't know if I want her to. I trust you, but I just don't want to take that chance of her getting hurt. She's only 2."

"I understand." I assured.

She soon dropped me off at my house. I walked in. My dad was sitting in the living room.

"So how was today?" He asked.

"One of the most amazing days of my life." I started. "Janie was the most shy person I've ever met on earth. But then she held a chameleon and it broke her shell. Then she held a bunch of other animals. And she's completely different. And all the zoo keepers love her. We went into he bug house. But Jake stayed outside because he's apparently terrified of bugs. And so I sent him a picture of a spider crawling up Janie's arm." I was talking so fast. "And it was just an amazing day."

"Sounds like it." He chuckled.
