"Hello." I answered the phone trying to stop laughing.

He was laughing too. We eventually calmed down. I walked to my room in case my mom or dad walk in mid conversation.

"I got a Parakeet birb." He announced.

"Really?!" I gasped. "Can I come over tomorrow and meet him?"

"Of course. His name is George. And listen. We already taught him how to say I Am Iron Man." He put the phone by the bird.

"Jake you fucking asshole!" George said instead. I then heard Janie dying with laughter.

"What!?" He gasped. I fell on my floor laughing.

"Okay, I gotta fix this." He then hung up.

The next morning I got up to go to school. I put on a Black Sabbath shirt, black leggings, and sneakers. I did my hair and makeup and left.

20 minutes into 1st hour my phone started ringing. Everyone looked at me.

"Crap! Sorry I didn't realize my phone was on!" I apologized.

"Oh no. You already caused a distraction. You owe an explanation. Answer the phone." She demanded.

I knew her rule. If your phone goes off you answer it in speaker. But it was Jake. I don't think he's a good person to put on speaker, especially in school. I sighed and put it on speaker.

"I'm at school right now. What do you need?" I answered the phone.

"Sorry, I know you're at school. But I'm kinda in a predicament. And you'll hopefully know what to do." He started. "How do I get a bird back in a cage and un-teach it words?" He asked.

"Just catch him. You're tall enough to reach a bird, or lure him in with food." I explained. "And you can't un-teach birds words. It's impossible."

"Well in m tired of it saying 'Jake you fucking asshole' every time it sees me." He declared.

"Daddy! The bird just called you a bitch!" I heard Janie say.

"Nevermind on the catching it thing. It flew back into the cage." He announced. I heard the phone drop.

"Get your hands off of me! You whore!" The bird yelled.

"Motherfucker." Jake cursed. I quickly hung up.

"Sorry. My boyfriend just got a Parakeet."

The whole class burst into laughter. Even the teacher. We couldn't do class properly anymore.

Later on that day Emily and I were sitting at lunch together, like always. I was about to tell her about what happened in 1st hour when people started to gather around me. Some sat down at the table and others just gathered around me.

"Was that Jake Gander on the phone?" One boy asked.

"Are you dating Jake?" A girl followed.

People kept asking questions. But I couldn't take it anymore. I stood up and walked to the outside tables. I sat on the ground and just got out my book and read. A boy sat beside me.

"I'm not gonna bombard you with questions. But I just really need to know if that was was Jake Gander." The boy asked.

"Yes. It was." I responded.

"Well I used to be his friend, and he left without saying anything. So I just wanna know if he's okay. And I understand if you don't, or you don't want to tell me. But do you know why he left?"

"Yeah, I do. But I don't want to go into detail of it with people without his permission. Apologies." I responded.

"I understand. And you're good for that." He assured. "But the next time can you please tell him that Isaac said hi." He then got up and walked away.
